This is a fantastic collection. The simplest design can become special with just a few dramatic features. Everything is elegant, creative. The skirts flow beautifully as the model walks down the runway. He also incorporates bows and large accessories beautifully. He doesn't place a bow on an outfit just to have a bow because that is the popular thing to do. His bows are incorporated into a design and belong there. That is a rare accomplishment. I look forward to seeing Balmain's future collections.

Actually, to those who follow fashion religiously, he copies other designers even so much they have to call him out on it. The late Thierry Mugler did this a few times on his instagram page. Olivier is not an original, he's a copycat

Spectacular! Each piece is a sculpture. Truly, this is the very essence of artistry. At first, I didn't "like" it, then I found myself saying "WOW!" as each new confection came into view. Great artists like Olivier Rousteing teach us how to "see" differently; think Picasso, Dali. You are baffled, then excited. You can't look away. These are clothes you want to touch. Despite their modernism, some are also redolent of the great black-and-whites from the '40's-60's Diors with their sharp, sleek lines.This season seems to have brought out the best in all the great designers. I'm loving it, and running to my closet to see what I've got that's "timeless," and combining colors and shapes I now see as a new way, with my own wardrobe. So inspiring! Bravo, Olivier and Balmain!
