It’s hard to watch you, knowing I’m a better rider, but having less patience. I wish I could put into words how you teach these riders. It’s great that you can. Respectfully....

Love you video! What do you think about Dunlop Trailmax for these off road conditions? I just don't like TKC80 on the tarmac. ty
@balmhanna13 жыл бұрын
Never really tired them but I heard good things about them. It also depends on how much off/on road you do. TKC are quite expensive here in uae.

Good to be rich to afford these fun classes, but I learned the hard way, started on a motocross and worked my way up MX tracks and rode a GS1200 without having to take any riding classes. KTM can go places a BMW GS1200 would not be able to make it due to its heaviness and just being a bulky bike, beside, a very expensive bike to drop around all day!! ;-)
@JAS4989SILVA6 жыл бұрын
ktm has just as heavy bikes

What I learn from this video: BMW R1200GS is just overkill offroad - much too heavy, non-optimal cylinder positioning, not the best tyre dimensions. If you want to take big offroad KTM and Honda AT or BMW F800GS are much better options. Lets face it - BMW R1200GS are road bikes that can be ridden on gravel roads - but that is pretty much what 98% of guys can do with it. Not to say that 2% can use them in heavy terrain - but even those would then be better off with lighter bikes... noone needs 125hp offroad

It are all all-road machines with the meaning road machine.
@lamilumag6 жыл бұрын
I have owned 2 R1200GS Adventures and a few KTMs as well as a Honda Africa twin and took them from Greece to Norway with lots of gravel and sometimes offroad - so I guess my comment is not sooo unqualified. The GS Adv is a lot of fun - but taking it offorad is mostly a chore. Try one as soon as you can afford to break one.
@BigStrath6 жыл бұрын
If you are strictly talking about taking a bike offroad then of course there are better options than a r1200gs. A dirt bike or even a dual sport would be much better options than a 1190, f800, or an african twin. All bikes are on a spectrum of off road vs on road. The r1200gs leans more towards on road and gives you a better ride for long trips especially when you want to carry a lot of gear. I would not say that it is overkill for offroad. Buy a bike for a purpose and understand its benefits and limitations.
@sukhoi37476 жыл бұрын
Of course there are many better offroad bikes out there R1200GS is a multipurpose bike, a bike that can handle on road and off road. This course is for rider to learn how to use R1200GS to handle offroad. Can F800GS handle pillion and fully loaded luggage as good as R1200GS especially on highway? No way! Can R1200GS handle offroad as well as F800GS, don't think so however the R1200GS has the capability to tackle offroad and this course is meant for that...
@nightuknight48276 жыл бұрын
Wrong in my opinion , i drive same bike in dirt , wood ,sand pools and slippery conditions . Practice make perfect . You have to ride ,ride and ride. Start with easy conditions , do 8 ring on hard surface , try u turn with minimum radius .Work to perfect with handle bar and levers and you stand position on bike, then try your skills on well known off road territory .Wish luck to all beginners :) Train ! you will be good !

I don't think I've ever seen anyone ride like that off road...like ever. I don't get what Nicolas is doing, stand on one leg and then sit down with both legs on one side? That's pointless BS. BMW should get a few Supercross pros if they want teachers.
