Wow.... a few years ago now but still impressive. The FG40 sounds great! Nice build .... I hope its still flying around (when not locked down with covid I guess!). Cheers Stephen, Phil

Very nice build. How did the plane balance using the FG-40? Did you add any weight or move any internals for balance? What size fuel tank did you use?

Great series of videos on your SE5a. I am planning on this one as my next build. Did you need down elevator trim? Thank you!
@stephenhamilton64184 жыл бұрын
Steve Ort thanks for your comment yes she did need some down elevator on the day I put this down to the wind but after flying on a calm day some down elevator was indeed required back on the ground with straight edge on the stab the trailing edge of the ele sits about three mm down
@steveort10924 жыл бұрын
@@stephenhamilton6418 Thank you. It seems typical of most Balsa USA planes to need down elevator trim. I will add probably 2 degrees of positive incidence to the horizontal stab at the time of the build.
@stephenhamilton64184 жыл бұрын
Steve Ort totally agree my busa cub was exactly the same ,on the se5a when setting the incidence of the top wing the book suggests from 1 to 2 degrees so I went for the middle at 1 and a half not sure if that helps you in any way also with right thrust I believe I went for 1 and a half degrees

Greetings from the States! That was a wonderful maiden flight. Looked great in the air and on the ground. The Saito four stroke sounded fantastic. You weren't the least bit nervous were you? I am getting ready to buy a Balsa USA kit for the winter build. They are having a 10% off sale so it seems like a good time. I have my list narrowed down to a SPAD, Nieuport 28 or the SE5a. Your video did not help LOL.
