Alive and well!? What hole have you been living under? The Browns have been a proverbial laughing stock since they "came back". One playoff appearance in 19 seasons, they've finished dead last in their division 15 of those 19 seasons (including 7 consecutive years going into 2018) and are one of two teams to finish a season 0-16. Alive and well? Harr-dee-harr. Baltimore stole the respectable franchise that Cleveland bought and in their place, Cleveland replaced them with a franchise that is comparable in name only, but are a complete mockery of the old Cleveland team.

Understand your confidence. No one thought the Browns would leave. They always packed them in, were historically important, a team that had a fan base across the entire country, Paul Brown, first Monday night football game, Best rivalry with Steelers and Browns, but the winds of change can come along fast. All it takes is a bad owner and a change in the money and whoops there they go. About 20 years from now you’ll remember what you read here. A new owner is itchy and stadium is getting old.

Thank you for some sanity. It's a joke to hear people bash Baltimore for the Browns situation. The Browns KEPT their tradition, colors, legacy, history. Part of the agreement to halt all lawsuits was Irsay saying he'd back an expansion team in Baltimore, THEN WENT AGAINST it. The jackass owner of the Redskins always was against Baltimore getting a team as well. Modell coming to Baltimore bothered me and as much as he is hated in Cleveland, he did it far better than Irsay.

The only reason for that is Cleveland sued Modell, making him leave the colors and history. He originally wanted it to be the Baltimore Browns, and lost money on the pennants and memorabilia saying Baltimore Browns. I know a guy who has a few of the Baltimore Browns's beer mugs, which were supposed to be destroyed at the factory, but he kept a few thinking they would be valuable one day.

Wrong, you got the Browns renamed the Ravens. Cleveland didn't get the sweet heart deal from the league that Carolina and Jacksonville got. Cleveland got a general expansion franshise like Tampa Bay and New Orleans, each took over 20 years to start winning. The expansion team is the Browns in name only. The real Browns are in Baltimore. If Baltimore was the expansion team they would be the league doormate.

Baltimore did NOT steal the Cleveland Browns. The Cleveland Browns returned to Cleveland. What Baltimore "stole" was a franchise foundation, which was named the Baltimore Ravens. Jim Brown isn't a Baltimore football legend and Baltimore does not claim him. When you goto the Hall of Fame, Otto Graham and Jim Brown are in the "Cleveland Browns" section...John Unitas and Gino Marchetti are listed as "Indianapolis Colts". Cleveland will never understand that. I'm GLAD they got their team back.

Honestly disagree. The Ravens lost their "legacy", but Cleveland lost their franchise foundation. The Browns were a respectable team for decades prior to moving and becoming the Ravens. The Ravens continued that and even won a few championships. The Browns meanwhile, "returned", but in name only. What truly arrived was a circus-act dressed up as the old Cleveland Browns. I think Baltimore got the better end of the deal. Longer wait for a team (11 years to 4), but what they got was a solid franchise, while Cleveland got easily the worst franchise in sports.

It took them 12 years to steal another team from another city. Clevelands had 13 years of expansion football. Baltimore got the Browns and renamed them. We got the expansion team and named them the Browns. We should have kept the Browns and the hypocrits from Baltimore should have got the inferior expansion football. When the Browns expansion team does start to win, and expansion teams start winning after 20 seasons, so in about 7 or 8 years, I hope they get good as dirty team. For one, the city of Cleveland had to sue Modell to get him to leave the name and colors. You were meant to be the Baltimore Browns, and would have been had it not been for the city's lawsuit. It was two months after Modell announced the move that he finally agreed to leave the name and colors in exchange dropping litigation. Thousands of plastic cups, caps, bumper stickers, and pennants were made up with the name Baltimore Browns on them and Model whined about the large amount of money he lost on them because of the name change- this was all over the news in Cleveland, and I met a few people who still have some of the Baltimore Browns stuff in case they became a collector's items somehow, but they haven't. Maybe that story didn't make it to Baltimore, where they've white washed the hijacking of our team. And number two, so what you are saying is that it would have been okay for Irsay to leave if he had left the team name and colors.
