Bad cops will be bad cops, thugs will be thugs. I blame the "good" officers of the BPD who knew what was going on and said nothing. The "thin blue line" is a good thing until it becomes ugly. A good cop DETESTS corruption. A good cop REPORTS corruption. The sad thing besides the individuals directly affected like this man, is the damage to the community trust. It will take a COMPLETE house cleaning and YEARS of solid policing to correct this.

Where I live in Baltimore County we have police that pull people over just to give tickets to make their quota for the month. I have been pulled over after making a stop at a stop sign and was told by the Police I didn’t stop good enough. So there was like 20 of people the same day for the same thing from the same police officer and the judge didn’t want to hear a word of what any of us had to say. For people like me who struggle every month to pay my bills and having cops pull you over for doing nothing wrong to make their quota for the month hurts us not only we have a fine but also are I insurance goes up. We pay enough in taxes

When a police officer asks you a question either say "Am I obliged to answer your question?" If they say yes, say "What makes the obligation?" They don't have any answer to that. Or simply say "I don't answer questions" to every question they ask you.

Corrupt policing should be dealt with by applying the RICO statutes. The corrupt police departments are organized criminal organizations and must be stopped by fairly applying the law to all officers who commit criminal acts and those who enable that, as accessories to the crime.

Brothers & sisters put 360 degree cameras in your car, and hidden cameras all over house. Never tell police your recording. Worst case might spend a few weeks in jail. But that camera footage will save you. Spend the money on cameras. You don’t want to be in jail for 5-10 years then get exonerated.

When u hear the Reagan’ers talk about just say no, or if u don’t like jail just don’t do crime. Or pick yourself up by the boot straps. What if you can’t, what if the oppression on you isn’t even subtle it’s just direct and aggressive? Put yourself in his shoes, walking/driving to the store, next thing you know it’s 2 years later and you’re in jail cuz the police lied. So when they say defund and reform, it’s things like this, all the people in Prison for possession related offenses and the George Floyd’s. You give minimally trained egomaniacs with too much testosterone, too little empathy and way too little self control guns badges and unchecked power they will obviously abuse it. It wasn’t a thing that happened after the civil war or in the 30’s while burning crosses. It’s a systematic set of circumstances and oppression that keeps black people down. Whether or not you are racist or participate directly you’re involved. At best 75% of cops are good people, AT BEST! I’d guess closer to 40%.

Lump sum monies, naw they need a weekly deposit, they need medical insurance, they need mental health coverage, they need an apology, records expunged, lifesaving reset bought and paid for by the city and their insurance.
