Hey old timer! I am not too far behind you in age! Try to find a pair of magnifying GLASSES, (like your reading glasses) I have a pair my wife bought me made by "Yogo Vision" and with them on I can actually read very tiny print like in my family bible or my phone etc they are wonderful!!!! I am not sure but I think she found these in Walmart, I can ask her if you are interested. Also if you don't already know this, Windows computers have settings in them to help people with horrid vision to read like a built in magnifier, giant onscreen keyboards and cursors etc!

Hey Matthew, I wanted you to know that this past Wednesday, the 27th, my wife and I caught 12 Pompano, 8 which came on the new , Bummy Stick!!! We gave 6 of them to other fishing families who had caught nothing. This all happened between 6 and 10 in the morning. We love that rod!!! We were fishing with Shrimp and Green Fish Gum. Thanks for all your help on learning. Keep the videos coming!

A very demanding job, and the pressures of life carried me away from surf fishing for the past 20 years! But last year I discovered your channel, immediately subscribed, and your love of fishing has brought me back - I upgraded my equipment and started fishing again. I paid close attention to your tackle and techniques, and caught some very nice fish from the surf (who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks?) Missed out on your bummy stick last year but ordered one earlier this year, it is rigged and ready to go. I will be 75 later this month, cannot move like I used to, but once again I am rejuvenated and raring to go! Like you, I plan to retrofit my Fish n Mate cart with balloon tires, because pulling it 1/4 mile to where I fish wears me out! We will head to the NC coast tomorrow and I can not wait to get lines in the water. Thank you so much for giving back thru your love of fishing. Keep doing it and we'll do our best to stay bummy here in NC!

Hears an idea that's worked for me in the past. Tie on a popper and put a 2' leader off the rear hook with a jig. It's like a popping cork and jig but the popper catches fish too. I like a light jighead or just a hook in a soft plastic body on the trailer. That trick has worked for me in Florida and on the beach in Costa Rica so it should work for you too. A little fish gum on the jig would make it better.

Great video! I actually think singles hooks on lures hold fish much better. Where trebles often skin hook fish single hooks are more likely to get in one side and out the other. They don't end up all over a fishes face or in their eyes either.

Question for you, how come no one puts measure marks on their rods anymore? We used to use auto paint, model paint or fingernail polish and start at the very butt of the rod and mark of every half inch up to whatever length you thought you'd need or on the larger rods mark up to 5 or 6 feet. great job for those boring winter months and once done it usually lasts a very long time! (Note, use a VERY fine paint brush to get your marks as accurate as possible).
