Down there two weeks ago from TX and caught a bunch of B Liners too. But my 14 year old son caught a massive 13.5 pound Mangrove. Told him I don't think I'd ever caught one over 16 inches and I grew up on the Coast. We had so much fun and this is his favorite fishing channel.

Gotta send ya a tip on scaling. Me my granddad waded the river an caught bought every time. My granny had a heavy table spoon with the rounded top cut back and it works to this day. Spoon catches scales most of the time an is quick work with leverage. Awesome vid as always God bless y'all! Thanks for sharing!!

Heck yeah!! Your content is amazing and there are very few creators who do a great job of highlighting what you can do with your catch...recently pulled my PB gag grouper and would have wasted more of the fish had it not been for me seeing one of your previous videos on the deliciousness of cooking the collar on a red snapper. Much love -- the more you know, you know! If you're ever make your way to St Pete you have a friend in me.

Steve my granny the best angler I have ever seen (rest her soul) used to watch Bill Dance. That is until she realized he didn't like to eat fish, so he released everything after a kiss. That was something she couldn't abide by-- so she stopped watching him. I think she would have enjoyed the fact that if you can keep 'em, they are going to end up being eaten.

18:00 I have to try a couple different fish and remember the taste but so far my favorite salt water fish is a mangrove snapper, and long story short, I got bit by one and it hurt really bad 😂, but luckily it was around keeper size nothing big to actually do real damage 👍

How does the knocker rig work with the weight sliding down against the hook?
@BamaSaltwater Жыл бұрын
It does good as long as you do not snell the circle hook. If you snell the circle with a knocker rig, it'll tangle up badly

That looked absolutely delicious. I love fish, especially saltwater versions. I am unfortunately land-locked, and a fish like that would cost more than $100 to buy around here. I can get flounder frozen and that's about it. I eat lots of freshwater fish and living right next to Lake Michigan I can get salmon. Not the same as the ones from saltwater, but still pretty good. Love your channel. Keep giving God the glory man.
