I'm from Mobile and we use to wear the flounder out spring and summer fishing broken down docks on high tide anywhere from Foul River to Intercoastal waterway on mostly root beer grubs with white tails. It was almost too easy in the early 2000's. It might be different now. Love the Vlog.

Quickly becoming one of my favorite fishing yt. Simple and informative, what’s the difference between mud mullet and whiting?
@BamaSaltwater3 жыл бұрын
Ground mullet are often called whiting as well! I call them whiting a lot . They’re all a type of “kingfish”. There are a few different variances but they’re basically a whiting hah

Why use a double uniknot and not a swivel? Is there a major difference or is it preference?
@BamaSaltwater3 жыл бұрын
The less hardware or terminal tackle, the better in my opinion. I personally like using a line to leader knot over the swivel unless I’m using a lure or bait that might cause more line twists, such as a spoon. You can also reel the knot through the guides versus a swivel, thus allowing a longer leader if necessary. But a lot of people aren’t comfortable splicing line so a tiny, black, barrel swivel will work okay.

What’s your take on the VR 50 compared to the Shimano ultragra? Do you not us the VR50 as much now!
@BamaSaltwater3 жыл бұрын
They’re two different categories. Kinda like apples and oranges. I use the VR’s for more surf casting or heavier bottom fishing. I love my Ultegras for inshore

Is there a reason that you don’t use a bead below your weight to protect the knot from being beat up by the weight?

Although the Popeye Mullet are good eating, the ground mullet taste better. If you take the Popeye filets and cover them in olive oil then smoke em there really good. Scale them and leave the skin on if your smoking.
