Ignore what I say about the rates in this video. The farm wasn't producing nearly as much as it was meant to due to me not lighting up the bamboo. I fix it 3 episodes later and it now produces over a double chest per hour :)

I did notice that alot of the bambo was not even passed the 1st stage of growth. Maybe a lighting or something issue preventing growth

i was hyped that it was gonna have like 3 double chests but it doesn't, you could probably get that much bamboo in like 5 minutes with manual work.

Check the light level for the bamboo, it needs 9+ to grow. Most of the bamboo looks like it didn't grow at all so also check you're AFKing close enough. If my maths is right you should be getting 2.2k bamboo/hour. BTW congrats on 6k!!!

Does it count light levels at the ground level? I assume so, but I'm also about to build one of these underground so thought I'd ask!

@@irisbear9421 I believe it's the light level of the highest bamboo block, so just place a few torches nearby and you should be all good

You should use auto crafters to craft the bamboo into planks and everything that would be cool

the bambo farm would have been more efficent i think if you stood in the middle of your base, as it might not all have been in the sim chunks

Yeah that sucks. Another commenter mentioned light level and that’s probably the case, most of those bamboo haven’t even grown. Toss a few sea lanterns along that hopper line, maybe hop in the farm and sprinkle some bonemeal on the ones that didn’t grow as well.

@@Smqrf71 nope, take back that negative self talk right now. As far as the farm is concerned, bedrock also has a weird thing sometimes about block updates. For instance, ever since 1.17 when growing crops the majority of a wheat field will be fully grown and there with be one or two stuck at like stage three, even after sitting there in Sim range for almost an hour. The crop will grow to the final stage if you update a block next to it. They don’t call it bugrock for nothing. 🤷🏻‍♂️😂
