I am not sure why I enjoyed this so much but it seemed wonderful to me. I love bamboo but there is only one small patch where I live. Sometimes at night I want to sneak out and steal them all but I restrain myself.

Oh WoW, this was so much fun just to watch! And, if you remember the bamboo cooking vid you mentioned (and I just watched before this one), when you cut the shoot in half along it's length, what you saw was all the sections waiting to grow up to full height. I think I'm right in saying that the shoot doesn't make any more sections, so whatever number of sections you might have counted then would be the same if it grew to 30mtrs tall. It really is an amazing plant.
