Maybe because his reason doesn’t make sense. As long as an adult opens the door at that address they can typically can sign for a delivery. Or he could have just told the company he was authorizing her to sign or put both names on it. I have seen instances where people ask third parties that don’t even live with them to hang at their house to receive a delivery. signed for things my name wasn’t on before. I’m skeptical of that. Deliveries that require a signature typically just say has to be the signature of someone who opens the door at that address. It doesn’t have to be the same person whose name is on the order. He also could have put both of their names on the furniture order or told the furniture company he was making her an authorized signee. I can’t count how many times I signed for deliveries at my job and my name wasn’t ever on any orders. It was the name of whoever handled purchasing. Maybe he was on drugs for so long that he doesn’t understand how things work.

This is where laws need to change- since all that furniture can cost more than an engagement ring, the gift needs to be classified as a CONDITIONAL gift. I agree completely. I find his comments extremely degrading, demeaning, and disrespectful. And they also show a complete lack of knowledge about recovery and addiction, which he always claims to be an expert on. He will always say he is such a supporter of getting people into rehab, but then he'll make fun of them when they try to come out of addiction or are still in active addiction, which anyone who works with addicted persons knows you should never do that. You want to uphold their respect and dignity no matter where they are in the process. I also don't like how he'll always refer to pimping, criminal activities, and other derogatory and stereotypical views of people of color. He will say he strives to honor and uplift people of color but then if he's doing that, why does he have to refer to everyone as a pimp, a thug, or a criminal? He always makes fun of people of color in a variety of ways, and even thinks it's funny to accuse people who have nothing to do with drugs of being an addict and saying they're acting crackish, etc. And what I really hate is how non empathic he is about child abuse! In one case, the daughter had horrific physical abuse, including athe mother's bf beating her while she was naked, yet he gave no empathy, or even acknowledgment of what she went through. Again that shows an utter lack of understanding of the impact of trauma on people. Yet, he claims to be an expert on this and everything else. People of color deal with enough humiliating integrating treatment every day of their lives. They don't need him to pile more on top.
