Bambu Lab P1P to P1S Upgrade Watch these Tips First

Bambu Lab has a nice set of instructions on their Wiki, but there are a few steps to consider to save you some time.
Be sure to have the hex key allen wrenches supplied by Bambu Lab, or have your own set.
Have some kind of flashlight ready to see into dark places.
A pair of small needle nose pliers can come in handy.

Just finished the upgrade just now. This video was a life saver lol. It's crazy how much Bambu's video misses, and you catch all that. For such a technical process, Bambu should really think about having someone talk during the video, explaining what they're doing. At least now I know my printer inside and out. Thanks a bunch, man! You somehow made this upgrade an enjoyable experience.

Almost perfect video, just finished assembly (with all the mistakes including not unscrewing back screws), then found this masterpiece and finished everytnig, and now I understand that for camera installation I need to disassemble left side once again, huh

So wait, I use the Obsidian nozzle and had to calibrate flow for some of my different filaments. If I continue the same nozzle after installing the P1S upgrade and changing to the P1S nozzle, the flow rates should remain the same, right?

I cannot get my bottom hinge in.The screw on the right went in okay, but the bottom one is just plain messed up. What do you recommend?

I just got the upgrade box. When I got the printer, I got an auxiliary fan and I have it mounted already (printed in PLA). Do I need to reprint in PETG for the aux fan too? I’m currently printing the chamber fan print and got me thinking? Nice video.

why is it that u have to change the gcode? is is also when u just buy the p1s directly?

This G-code turns on the fan on the main board that cools that radiatior thing. I suppose if you buy p1s directly it should be already in default options in your bambustudio, not sure on that tho

@@herreuittenhout3455 so I ordered the enclosure kit, and there's extra screws in the kit. it doesn't tell you that, but you notice when you start following the video, there's more than enough. A lot of the screws that the kit includes, are already on the printer, so you can reuse the screws that are already on it, and the ones they give you are extras, which you can use for the fan mount. why did you do the calibration as you didn't need to the p1p and p1s are the same hotend all you have done is put extra fans and an enclosure your flow rate will not change.

yeah thats why the calibration is importend because u put extra parts on it so the printer vibrated difrently ....and u never know enlusure and extra fans can change things ....and also better one calibartion to much then one to less want harm the printer

you only need to calibrate if you change to a different nozzle size .4 to .8 or .6

Not at all, the calibration process works out the vibration and acceleration of the tool head. If you do the upgrade and add a cable chain, extra mass to the enclosure like panels and glass lid/door. You change the tool head mass/momentum and the vibration effects on the new parts added to the case. Yes you need to do the calibration after the upgrade. 👍🏼
