Just bought my X1 combo - thank you for this video! I know now that I made the right choice.

Be careful using narrow spools in the AMS. Mine has gotten jammed up several times either because the spool gets out of alignment against the two little plastic tabs at the rollers or because (my fault of course) the filament I'm trying to use is several years old. Once the spool gets jammed up the AMS feeder gears will shred the filament a bit and send particles into the PTFE tubes and wreak more havoc. Fun haha! I've got a few old Amazon Basics filament spools that are too wide for the AMS rollers so check spool widths before you order a bunch. I've seen a few vids that caution against using spools that are made of cardboard because those can wear down and send particles into the AMS mechanism also. Oh, and the AMS does this thing where if you have several rolls loaded, EVERY time you turn the machine on it will feed each filament through the PTFE tubes almost all the way into the machine and then back it out again. I suppose it's just checking to make sure everything works but that just seems like unecessary wear on the AMS gears and filaments IMHO.

I just got my X1C a couple of days ago. I am new to the 3d printing world and this printer is awesome. I am not a fan of all of the wasted material, but I understand why it does it. I try to print in one color as much as possible. I did have a spaghetti failure right at the end of a large print, which was very frustrating. This could have been my fault. I am still learning.

So, I'm a beginner, just bought this one. Yeah, I know, a 1500 printer as a beginner... I didn't want to buy a cheap one and end up upgrading later. That being said, after watching this, I feel much better about my purchase. After playing around with it, and doing a lot of simple stuff, what would be some good/solid upgrades for it?

I have heard sometimes upgrades make it work worse, that's how good it is stock standard.

Hi, I saw this on another video. Depending on how much supports, print time, etc. If you lay the print on its back, then when it comes to the eyes you light have a lot less filament color swaps. It looks like the eyes extrude out from the print.

I would be careful handling carbon fibre like that. It has micro fibres jutting out that if you looked under a microscope you would see they are stuck in your finger after handling. I saw a really good video on it somewhere but its similar to how asbestos can get stuck in you.

Definitely not as bad as asbestos that causes cancer carbon fibers will just cause mild discomfort. But you are right it does come out and stick in your skin
@ArtWilbornАй бұрын
Does that mean even after it's been printed?
@steverolfeca24 күн бұрын
@@ArtWilborn Yes. Take the time to search for videos about this issue, so you can make an informed decision about using it. You can seal the outer surface of CF prints w/crazy glue, but that raises a number of additional issues and complications.

Thanks for such a great and detailed review. I’m thinking of buying this printer. Just a couple of questions if you don’t mind. 1. Does the printer do all the setup for you like auto leveling (The creality v2 was horrible to set up) and 2. Does it automatically change colours when printing multiple coloured prints? Cheers
@AllThingsMech2 ай бұрын
Don't own one of these yet, but I've been doing extensive research to upgrade from my Ender 3 S1 Pro. Yes, the X1/P1 printers will do all of the pre-print calibrations for you. The nozzle itself actually doubles as a touch probe, so it will run an auto leveling cycle before each print. This is all configurable in the settings, but I believe that the default is to do the auto level before the start of each print. As for multi color prints, also yes - the AMS will cycle between colors automatically for the layers that require it, purging the old color out and feeding the new color into the hotend all by itself. It wastes a pretty large amount of filament doing this, but the results are usually excellent from what I've seen. Hope that helps!

This looks like a great printer. I can not say it is a good starting one as $1400 is so expensive. I use a $200 flsun qq printer as my gateway printer and it lets you learn so much for 1/7 the price. This printer looks like something you would get after you are realy into it. Mind you I only print 1 or 2 things a month and that may color my view.

I will say you are correct with this being a printer for those enthusiasts and entrepreneurs. My gateway drug printer was a Flashforge then the K1 and now this. I don't run my k1 much since I got this. haha

I've been wanting to upgrade my CR-10 v2 for a while since I found out about the X1C....unfortunately, I haven't convinced my wife to tell me to order one....but being that my dad and I have a DJ business on the side and I recently booked about 7 gigs, I think I'll have enough funding to pick one up....I just might have to have someone else order it for me ;) Thanks for the informative video!

@@christopherd5040 I wish I knew, people that own don't think it will be soon but I know for sure as they said so that a "new" model is coming but not necessarily an update to this one, I assume it will be a larger version of the X1C with a different name which will be convenient if you want to print full helmets and other bigger models of whatever.

@dosdont I'd guess that too. To compete with the K1 Max or Crealitys new machines they introduced this year. I'll only be buying bambu from here though. Based off this machine.

If you have the AMS connected to it so that it can switch between filaments, yes. That's why it has a chute in the back to discard/flush the excess filament in hotend when switching filaments.

Awesome printer, but at 2KCAD it is way overpriced those days. Recently Creality absolutley killed with their KE, K1 and K2 versions for fraction of the cost, last month Creality released Creality Print v5 it is absolutley amaizing and massive improvment from v4. If money is not an issue X1 is the way, but KE can not be beaten at 299CAD just can't. K1 is now 499CAD that is 4 times cheaper from X1. Also price of Oryginal filament is quite a lot. Great Video!

I have the creality k1. After printing with Bambu, I don't use it much anymore. The quality just isn't there on the prints. I can easily print the same file on both and know instantly which it was printed on.

I was a k1 max fan until 3 months into owning it it messed up a print and when it did it the head got caught on the messed up print and it cut the wires on the head and it took 3 more months to get them to refund the printer because they kept sending me parts instead that kept not fixing the messed up head

@jimmyispromo Hi, sorry if I missed it, but I didn't hear if Bambu sent you this printer to test/review or if you bought it out of pocket? Because of how expensive this printer is, it matters to me if the reviewer shelled out their own cash or not regardless of if they feel it wouldn't influence their review. Sorry if I sound antagonistic, I don't mean to be. There's just so many free printers being sent to KZbinrs to review that I've become a bit jaded. One of us viewers who forks over $1500 dollars is out that money, where a reviewer getting a free product can move onto the next thing sent to them. I hope you will reply, and I thank you for your understanding.
@jimmyispromo4 ай бұрын
This was sent by Bambu for my independent review. It has nothing to do with my review of it in any measure. The reason why, I am an entrepreneur with a business of 3D Printing. Time is money, as they say, and this has helped me tremendously with my side business in terms of quality of prints, fewer issues, and speed at which it prints. They didn't review the video before uploading or give any details of what to say or not to say. So this was 100% authentic and true if it was bought or given. Take that as you will. I appreciate your comment, as I know exactly your position and point.

With that said, because of the quality and reliability of Bambu, i barely use my Creality K1. I plan to buy the A1 or P1S to help with additional prints.
