🤘BITCHIN🤘I ordered mine on 8-23 so hope to get mine in a couple weeks! Good vid, you covered a few things I hadn't seen yet. Thx!

@@FfxivPcPlayer Wow that's much faster. I hope it has reached "normal" order and shipping times.

Its amazing it just blasts through every filament I have thrown at it so far without messing with the default presets. Made a thin walled 175mm sphere lithophane lampshade out of polymaker ABS today and it came out flawless even the top portion of the sphere where you would think it needs some sort of support was perfectly clean.

I have found that when prints change from gloss to matte finish like that, it is a result of the filament moisture content changing after a few unwraps of the spool. (I dont have a bambu so it could be a speed thing as the layers get faster in a benchy as it goes up)

I ordered mine on 10/6 and it's shipped.. get's here 11/29. It took me a couple of weeks to scratch together the coin to pay the invoice, i wasn't expecting it so soon lol

LOL. The lump sum can be hard to swallow, but I think it is worth it. Have fun with it!

Pre-ordered the X1-Carbon bundle...this will be my first 3D-printer ever. I hope I made an awesome choice and can figure it out well, LOL

Wow. It is a good choice. Take some time and get to know the slicer software. Have fun!

I’m wondering if the benchy is sliced using standard speed or ludicrous speed. Might be interesting to slice your own benchy using the machines standard speed which is I believe 250mm outer walls and 300 inner walls, and see what the time is on that. I know on my vyper it’s like an hour and 20 minutes, for me even if it halves the print time it’s a win. The noise is nothing to me as I have a dedicated space.
@thinkdesignmake2 жыл бұрын
I'm going to do that. I'll bet it still only takes 20 to 30 minutes. Pretty impressive.

@@thinkdesignmake I was just watching a video on the p1p and in the comments a poster said the best he could do with his x1c on a benchy he sliced was 40 minutes on standard. So I’m interested in what you come up with. A few things mentioned in that thread was he used generic pla in the profile and it was suggested to change the settings to Bambu labs filament, also tweaking the flow rate was mentioned. It was stated that the benchy on the x1 is a hand sliced file layer by layer from a Bambu labs engineer. That could explain the change in filament texture on the hull and top of the wheelhouse as nearly every x1 and x1c and now p1p benchy I’ve seen is that way. I’ve said in other posts that even if the x1 series and p1 series printers are just twice as fast with good quality as what I have now I’m buying one. I’m stuck at around 60mm max right now with the hardware I have. Maybe I can bump it up with a few more tweaks and upgrades. But with speeds I’m seeing on the Bambu labs stuff and the quality right out of the box, plus the affordable prices for replacement parts it just doesn’t seem like it makes a whole lot of sense the keep sinking a lot of time and effort tweeking for a little bit more speed.

They offer a pei bed too, if you dont want to always use glue.

Yes. I have pei on 4 other Ender 3 printers. I'm definitely going to try it on the X1. How does pei perform with PA-CF filament?

@@thinkdesignmake texturedpei works really well with all filament, Ive used pa-cf and pc-cf and they both stuck amazingly.

The LiDAR won’t work with PEI plate, however I’m not sure it’s that big a deal
@morbus57262 жыл бұрын
@@shawnhicks619 It does work with it, bambu sells one as an upgrade. Some third party plates might throw up errors, but the official bambu pei plate works.
@shawnhicks6192 жыл бұрын
@@morbus5726 that’s interesting because they stated when doing the reviews on the p1p that the pei plate doesn’t work with LiDAR on the x1 and x1c. I don’t have either one yet, been waiting until I get my new space finished before I buy one. The p1p likely will do everything I need but now waiting for more reviews on that, as I mostly only do pla+ and petg. If I did go with the x1 series a pei plate would be the way to go for me as I don’t want to deal with replacing cold sheet “stickers”.
