In this video I go over the single most common reason why most of my prints fail. With 3d printing there can be a plethora of reasons why a print might fail. It could be the filament you're using. It could be that the model isn't well supported, it could be that the printer isn't calibrated, it could be the build plate, it could be a lot of things. I like what someone said once, "3d printing is more like alchemy than an exact science."
That said, this video covers the number one reason why most of my prints fail. Which, I hasten to add, is not all that many! The P1S is an amazing printer that has been pretty maintenance-free for me and just turns out consistently good prints. But maintaining a good clean build plate is crucial to a good print. I've found if I have warping or poor bed adherence or random failures, this is a good place to start.
Lastly, I referenced trying a new filament, Elegoo. While I'd love to give it good marks because it is affordable on Amazon, I can't yet. Even after cleaning the bed and triple checking my model settings, I had too many failures and poor bed adherence with the Elegoo filament even on prints I had done before. Once I switched back to my Overture eco-PLA, it printed flawlessly. That's pretty conclusive for me. You might have better luck and perhaps it just requires a slightly tweaked print profile but I didn't have the time to meticulous try multiple variations.

I just got my bambu p1s with ams, and so far ive only used the basic bambu filament. Ive tried a couple intense prints with stock and default settings, auto supports, and a couple of times ive gotten spaghetti everywhere. Could this be a filament issue or something else? Ive also had some prints kind of melt more and sag (and ive noticed leaving my chamber door open helps with that) would you say there are other filaments that hold up better than the stock bambu? Or is it just more of a cost thing?

Were the issues fixed with those steps for the elegoo filament?

Not completely, I certainly had less failures after ensuring there was a clean bed but there were still failures that occurred. At this point, I'm holding off on using more Elegoo filament. Sometimes it worked perfectly fine, but then I'd print the same thing and it would fail. For now, I'm sticking with Overture filament.
