About Dave's Walks
Hi there, I‘m Dave! I've lived in the English Countryside all my life, and I love it! I enjoy walking, and couldn’t help but notice just how beautiful the UK can be away from the cities. I found myself inspired and decided to get some camera equipment and make some walking videos so I can share my walks of the beautiful countryside with everyone!
I mainly focus on small towns, villages, picturesque landscapes, rolling hills and mountains, forests and canals, all along the coastlines in England, Scotland, Wales, and who knows maybe one day further afar!
I upload every Sunday 11.45am GMT (3.45am PST) (6.45am EST) (5.15pm IST) (9.15pm ACST)

As an Italian, I think I can say that there is no other country in the world with a respect and love as in England, for the countryside and the landscape. Surprising, in the national of the first industrial revolution

Yes I believe a visitor to England remarked some 100 or more years ago. The Industrial Revolution produced a country of ugly pictures surrounded by beautiful frames. We should cherish what there is left. Buongiorno. Liverpool

Dave, I don't know where to start. Bright green hedges, nothing says England more to me. Sunrise at the graveyard with sheep jumping up and down on the rock walls. What a scream! I loved that! Gosh, I wonder what St Aidan's Crypt was like. But the walks through the sandy pathways and tall sea grass just took my breath away with the sea lying behind it. Bamburgh Castle made it all idyllic. I have never seen a castle that large on such a rocky promontory. You create magic with your videos. Thank you! 🇬🇧 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I love and appreciate that you take us to all the nooks and crannies I’d want to see if doing it myself - you take the steps to the grotto or the meander around the cemetery, you pause and let us absorb it. I went here in 2019 with my cousin and brother, we went here and to Dunstanburgh castle and Conwy Castle. The walk through the Welsh highlands then coming back to Conwy Castle was amazing. I really need to come back to Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Seeing Conwy first, Dunstanburgh second and Bamburgh last was nice. Dunstanburgh left the best impression on me, it was huge and we could go to the tallest tower. I went when it was raining so we had the whole place to ourselves.

Hi Dave, I am enjoying your video! If you get a chance and feel so inclined: I used to visit England a lot when I was younger. On one visit, I got to Nottingham but did not leave enough time to properly see everything. A friend and I we’re headed to Chatsworth the next day. I missed out on seeing the chalk caves that serve as a secret way out of Nottingham Castle! It wasn’t in my guide books and I only found out at the tourist info kiosk there. There used to be only one tour of this daily at 3:00 pm. Plus there are some famous gardens near Nottingham too. So if you feel like it and think it would make for a good video… !

Interesting, had a little check on Google, I think you are referring to the 'City of Caves'. I will have to check with them to see If I am aloud to film. Places which require a ticket, often means seeking permission to film. I have made a note of it.

@@DavesWalks Oh thanks! As I recall, one of the famous poets lived near there too and the garden was supposed to be pretty. Hello, I'm from the Chechen Republic, it's in Russia, I recently fully watched the Last Kingdom and I have a question for the British, did you really have Lord Utret and King Alfred? If anyone knows, tell me!!! It's me food with translation!!! Thanks

King Alfred was real, whilst there was an Urthred, he was entirely different from the character in the show. I haven't seen The Last Kingdom but this is what I was able to find.

King Alfred the Great was the king of the West Saxons ( Wessex ) from 871 to 886 AD. He was the king of the Anglo Saxon’s from 886 till his death in 899 AD. He was known as The Great for his defence of his Kingdom against the Vikings and winning battles and securing peace with them and for his intellect and reforms in the reconstruction of Wessex and the founding of England. He also founded the first Royal Navy. With Uhtred, there was an Uhtred ( the Bold ) of Bamburgh ( Bebbanburg ) who ruled from 1006 till he died in 1016 AD. So there was an Uhtred, but over a 100 years later. It is said he died whilst on campaign in and around Yorkshire, whilst on his way to a meeting with Cnut, he was ambushed at “Wicheal” ( Wighill, near Tadcaster ) and killed.

Fair enough.. May I suggest checking out @IcelandHotSpots He has a specific walking style that creates an absolutely buttery smooth viewing experience with no bounce. Its a walking style my knees don't allow me to replicate.. I keep it as smooth as I am able.
