I get the feeling you should have obscured the number plates - can’t see the owner of that car being overly happy with your assassination of their car...

I guess that with it being a private plate, when it comes for sale that won't be the plate on the car. I would suspect that the owner is looking for a "service stamp" and with Bamford Rose it's great to see that their integrity shines through and not a making a quick buck on a service

It's not an assassination of their car, it's an honest review. BR didn't cause the issues, i'm grateful for the honesty as a soon to be V8 owner. Thanks BR.

£15k just to make it roadworthy? That’s an expensive MOT pass.....

If ever you doubt the value of pre-purchase inspection the second Aston scares you senseless, back in 1988 I bought a very pretty shiny MGB V8, did not bother with then £300 inspection, three months later I found out I had purchased two MGs the front end being V8, from the hidden weld back was Standard MG

I'm sorry to hear that, I suppose at some point we've all been in that situation. Frightening that people did that then with no thought of having any morals

After 5 Jaguar XK8 cars and now in a BMW 645Ci (conv), this is a scary video. These AM cars are either poorly built from the get go or built with minimal quality parts. Everything capable of failing seems to fail in relatively lower mileage cars. This announcers' attitude is scary as well....I love the 2003 Vanquish and actually considered one at $65,000usd but certainly not now. Not the car but the built in lack of quality or reliability. Pitiful

You cannot underestimate the true value of a pre purchase inspection. Don't use the usual guys for this like AA/RAC etc as these cars aren't your everyday drive. Get a specialist to look at it.

I hope that any future prospective buyer of a ‘bargain’ Aston Vantage finds this video and watches it before they (May) make a disastrous mistake. A couple of years ago I saw an early V8 Vantage at Auction and thought, that seems like good value at around 20k. Boy I’m glad I don’t scratch my nose during the bidding!

Strangely the mot history on the blue one is worse than the silver one....

Here in the states I am just starting to turn my head towards the earlier Aston’s as what I think is a natural progression from the XJS. I wouldn’t have a clue as to who to trust for a PPI. My approach to the Jags (of which I have three) is to first avoid rust at all costs, next up would be to make sure that the interior is well looked after. Regardless of mileage I take for granted that the entire suspension is in need of renewal, and lastly I’m looking for signs of overheating, dropped valve seats, head gasket issues. It goes without saying that any and ALL under hood rubber will be replaced to establish a baseline at the very least. Irrespective of cost, trusting this level of care to an independent shop is voluntary suicide in my view. These videos are starting to give me a sense of what it takes to get into the AM line and it seems like (for a DIY’r) 10K-15K after purchase expense is generally in order.

Are there any supercars, that justify to be abused. Literally being driven hard and daily as a sports car should be and yet keeping operating costs low????

Better a good Jaguar XKR rather than a bad V8V for the same money IMHO.
