@sfgiants22us besides you can hit any flea market in the Bay Area, and there are 20 of those guys selling stuff there. I used to vend at the Berkeley Flea Market at the Ashby Bart station, and there were dudes selling burned DVDs, burned music, stolen goods from batteries to clothing, and even drugs on the down low.

🤔 Registered vendors should have fixed set up street locations by now. Their stalls should have a *prominent display of vendor license # or QR code* that law enforcement can easily visually cross check. Everyone else can be removed/banned.

the sense of entitlement is unreal, a street vending permit doesn't grant you the right to use the street or sidewalk, just like DMV issues driver's license but they not responsible to provide you a car. the city doesn't owe you the spot amigos.

@TheGardenMG vending permits grants street vendors access to both sidewalks, and parking spaces in different areas of the city. The permitted vendors usually aren't the ones causing a proble, although there are always exceptions. It's the illegal street vendors who are causing the problem. I used to be a street vendor in SF. My favorite spot was 18th and Velencia a block from Dolores Park.

And with that comes a cleaner street and less stolen items being sold. But I can't help but think that they are taking the wrong approach when their attack on venders selling illegally also harms low income families.

@jogbird if they are contributing to society to help the community, i dont mind them staying and get a vendor license. i would rather all the homeless that do not want to help themselves, but choose to be homeless to go to a ghostown, so they can practice their homelessness instead of making the city the way it is. those homeless who wants to be help, we need better program, so once they get reintegrated into society, they dont fall back into poverty.
