SHAMUS. I am mesmerized by your skill and knowledge in the plant world. I would be honored to get your opinion on this. I am going to be buying land in a zone 9b area in Arizona, maybe 5 acres. I am worried about water. I will not have a well or a pipeline. I am trying to MAXIMIZE the water retention in my soil for mulberries, figs, mangos, lemons, oranges, carambolas and guavas. All of which I have grown but in South Texas with plenty of water. This is my game plan. Let me know if there is anything I am missing. Brick wall around my whole house to protect young fruit trees from intense sun and heat during summer, and cold protection from wind during winter. Also a tiny bit of water retention under the wall. Heavy Mulching to retain water, humidity, microclimate it up. Olla pots near trees like figs so they always have an emergency source of water nearby. Mulberry trees (drought tolerant, broad leaves and fast growing) to provide shade and microclimate for figs which will be under them. As far as how I am going to get my water. I am going to try to do a 3 - 5,000 gallon rain water storage tank and collection system. however I don't think I'll be able to water until monsoon season. Do you think I will be able to grow trees
