Thank you for this lesson. I wonder why some words that end with ‘n’ sound have ‘ร.’ For example, gaan is spelled การ instead of กาน

There are a few words with ร ending consonants that they have น ending sounds. Such as การบ้าน อาหาร อาคาร or even ล กาลเวลา พยาบาล พล เพล Basically, ร and ล have น ending sound.

Why consonant "ร"=ro ruea" in "การ"=kaan 2:07. pronounce to be "n"?Instead to be called "kaar"?? Bcos ro-ruea is "r". Soryy im confuse. Hlp me🥲

The letter 'ร' is normally pronounced "r" as initial sounds. but when 'ร' put as final consonant it is pronounced as "n"

สวัสดีคะ Can i ask if there also suffixes in thai language?? Is the word "loei" is a suffix?
@BananaThaiSchool
@BananaThaiSchool 4 жыл бұрын
Well, there are many prefixes in Thai but not really suffixes. However we have a word at put at the end of the sentence to give certain messages, and we called Particles. I also make one video regarding Thai particles, please check it out. เลย loey is one of them too :)

ร is "R" right Khruu Smuk? But why "การ" as "gaan"? And not "gaar" 🤔
@BananaThaiSchool
@BananaThaiSchool 4 жыл бұрын
Good question! This is more about writing rule. ร as an initial consonant has -r (rolling) sound, but when it's used as an ending consonant, then it has -n (น) sound. That's why it's pronounced การ gaan.

Speaking is a verb. I think you mean speech which is a noun
@ErroneousMonk1
@ErroneousMonk1 Жыл бұрын
Speaking can be a gerund (noun), as in "I enjoy speaking in English." If used with a helping verb, it is a present continuous verb, as in "I am speaking in English." It can also be an adjective, as in, "I have a speaking part in our new play."
