Your videos are the best way to learn Thai in Internet, indeed. I come from Austria, staying long-time and are learning for about 3 weeks now. Great idea to put out the differences. After 3 weeks learning the most important for me are the words like khao, khaw, khong, etc, it seems there are hundreds of words sounding similiar. May be it's a theme for a video. You make a great job!❤

Joort means to park in Khmer which is very similar to Thai. You would say quit smoking instead. Yaak is to want to and Aw is to get. Mo’t means no more.

Good luck with your 2023. You are an amazing and interesting person. It's your ups and downs that make your videos a bit different from the 'oh look another glorious beach' videos that are very common. I'd like you to be happy or more happy but we're not always happy 😁

One issue for me is the uniformity of orthography (spelling) in English for Thai words. Uniformity is improving and standard spelling for Thai words in English is emerging.
Well explained. The romanized spelling for the Thai word to finish, sed, was hard to understand how it was contrived from the Thai characters.

So the word laew = already while sed-laew = finished already. กินข้าวแล้ว gin khao laew = I ate already. กินข้าวเสร็จแล้ว gin khao sed-loey = I am done with eating already.

How to say stop to someone playing? Coz I heard at the Thai series he said joord to his friends to stop playing guitar when he do wrong cord..
@BananaThaiSchool4 жыл бұрын
Hi Victoria, thank you for your question! There are 2 words that mean 'to stop' in Thai. 1. หยุด yud = stop doing something 2. จอด joord = stop the vehicle So in that case to say 'stop playing', you have to say หยุดเล่น yud-len na ka

Just to clarify, when ด is the final sound, it will be 't' sound and not as 'd'. So หมด is said as mòt :)
@BananaThaiSchool3 жыл бұрын
There are many ways of writing Thai with English scripts ka. Some schools might write ด ending with d, and some might write with t. So both mòd and mòt work. The most important thing is to stick with the Thai scripts when you can and to pronounce it's right.
