I did this last year with a very small cutting. The plant did well then died back during the winter ❄️🥶❄️ I am very happy to report that my plant has returned beautifully this year and I am seeing sprouts of Purple 💜 heart in the pot. The plant is coming out nicely.

A little suggestion , include the main growing/ flowering time in West Bengal or Calcutta with temperature range. This will make videos more useful to users across the globe . By the way what are the flowering months of Aster.

Thanks for the video. My Purple Heart cutting in water has produced 3 new leaves after 6 weeks but still do not show any roots yet. It's about 7 inches tall. Should I cut the bottom so it might give out new roots? Or should I just leave it alone patiently?

Nice video. Though it is very easy to grow purple heart plant. I face one big problem that is the leaves get spots of dust in air. If I wash with water the spot stick to leaves not easy to clean as leaves break easily.

Thank your for your feedback. 😃 Coarse sand should be used in those plants, which require very less water, like succulents. Fine sand holds necessary moistre but releases extra water. Thus we should use fine sand for those plants who require much water. In our city Kolkata, India, mainly winter is only for 3 to 4 months. The temperature remains high for rest of the time. Thus the soil becomes dry easily. Sometimes the plants need watering twice a day. The fine sands help to hold the moisture for longer time.

1. Eggshell dust is a very good natural source of calcium. 2. If you want to use only coco peat, then you have to use it with perlite and vermiculite.
