In this video we're listening to another one from Band-Maid. We've really been enjoying our experience with this band, and we are quite eager to continue this journey with them. They are such good musicians, who clearly love the work that they do. We can't wait. Enjoy!

This song was performed in an online stream during the shutdowns and was them telling their fans how much they missed seeing them. It is a very emotional song for us fans.

This is a live stream Band-Maid did during Covid with no fans ! The song "About Us" was written for the fans =) to let them know how much they miss us and they would return soon ! They really came back strong i was able to see four concerts in less then a year ! I truely believe they are the best live band around today ! I would suggest y'all check out "Hate" Live at Lollapalooza 2023 it is amazing and harder as well =)

I agree. You should check out Hate? Lollapalooza 2023 live. Epic bass/guitar duel. This song is about Band-Maid and all of us, so yes, it is about you two also :D

But, this song _is_ about you. Would it help to read Saiki's introduction? They wrote this for their big show at the legendary Budokan that was supposed to happen on February 11th 2021. But, covid protocols were still in effect and they couldn't go forward with it. Instead they did an online concert and debutted this song, and the video you watched is that performance. Here is how Saiki introduced it: We were supposed to meet you today. For the first time in a year, we thought we could meet you all, those of you who could come to see us, but we can’t meet you in the end. I’m sorry. Even though it’s not my fault. We have been having days of turmoil for about a year. In the beginning, we were very surprised because we hadn’t experienced it before, and we had no experience of not being able to meet others in person. We were sad, but we found we shouldn’t be sad in this situation. When I saw you masters and princesses on social media, you were more depressed than us, and we thought that’s terrible. We Band-Maid have been thinking about how to cheer up all of you in the last one year. We truly wanted to meet you at Nippon Budokan, but it’s impossible because of COVID, so let’s wait for the day when we can meet. And in the last one year… or in the COVID pandemic, we have become more eager to cheer you up, and we Band-Maid realized again it’s important to give our songs to you. That’s why we wrote this song for Budokan. We made the album also in the pandemic, so it might have a little similar feel, but this song is planned for Nippon Budokan, and we really want to give it to you masters and princesses now. Budokan is not our goal but just a stepping stone. We will perform at bigger venues, and we promise we will bring you there and give you even better songs, so let’s keep it up a little more. This is our present for you masters and princesses. Please listen to it.

I was up at 3am watching this show, never missed a LIVE stream during this terrible time. The opening riff chokes me up even to this day. This one has a special place close to my heart because it was the first time I realized how much Band-Maid really cared about and truly love their fans. Aside of them being world class musicians they are wonderful people also.

If you are or were a long term fan, you missed their music during the pandemic and it's subsequent shutdowns. This was a heartfelt lament by the band to their fans, with the hope they would be back soon. When they did return to the U.S., the response from the fans were amazing.

I’m glad you got around to this one. Thank you! Legitimate jazzy, midtempo ballad. From the same musicians who give us “From Now On,” and “Shambles.” What stands out for me is that this doesn’t sound like a hard rock band doing their version of a slow song. They seem like naturals with this. I’m not sure of other artists who can actually do this sort of musical shapeshifting. And seriously grateful for both your honest takes! You tried, not so much to your tastes, and now I know where you’ll find that Band Maid, hard edged, fiery rock: “DICE,” official music video. You guys haven’t done this one yet?!

This on-line show actually took place on the day they were supposed to play a show at Budokan, one of their dreams. At the end of the Shibuya 2020 show, at the end of the DVD after they left the stage, the announcement came up for that show. The Maids were gathered together back-stage awaiting the crowd reaction and were elated. However, Covid took it from them. So what do they do? They write and perform this song to cheer up the fans who were unable to attend live shows at the time. Nothing but class. In November of this year they will end their 10th Anniversary Tour at Yokohama Arena which is bigger than Budokan. Apparently, what comes around goes around. I hope they sell out.

"About Us" changed my opinion of Band-Maid. Yes, Band-Maid can deliver face melting hard rock, but they can also deliver a heart melting ballad. In 2019 Band-Maid had released 'Conqueror' and was planning going on tour to promote the new album. Their 'Domination' Album had been a success the prior year and they were hoping to build on that success when the lockdowns were announced, their tour was cancelled, and their hopes were dashed. A year later they started planning a new tour to promote 'Unseen World', an album which they had recorded over the lockdown. Early in their career, Band-Maid had set the then wishful goal of playing a solo concert at Budokan, one of the largest concert venues in Japan where world famous acts play. They were scheduled to play Budokan, were very excited, and they had written "About Us" as a "Thank You" to their fans who had stuck with them. Band-Maid was going to debut the song at the Budokan concert. But the lockdowns were extended and the Budokan concert was cancelled. Again their hopes were dashed, but Band-Maid fought back: they took their planned show to another venue and live-streamed their planned concert in an empty auditorium. I have the bluray of the concert and I do have to admit that the usual Band-Maid audience energy is missing despite the band's best efforts. I bought the bluray explicitly for the debut of "About Us" and Saiki's MC introducing the new song. This is the song that made me realize how special Band-Maid is or as Chase Cameron would say, "They're Very Important." I encourage you to watch her preamble to "About Us". ...and listen to "About Us" again. kzbin.info/www/bejne/lWGlo6Zult59js0 - this is Rant and Chill - BAND-MAID - Saiki's MC / about Us (from ONLINE OKYU-JI LIVE) Reaction which has Saiki's English translated MC preamble - it is lengthy but heartfelt. and *it's the reason I cry* whenever I hear this song.

"About Us", in the vein of other great mid-tempo Band-Maid songs like Daydreaming, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, Wonderland, Awkward, Start Over, Mirage, At the Drop of a Hat and Smile, is an amazing song and personal message to their fans - a direction I'm glad to see them add to their journey toward world domination. And we get to hear MISA play the vibe she so enjoys. Their beautiful DVD/BD/CD set with 100 page picture book of this incredible concert is unbelievable! Thanks Hanier Fam, for bringing "About Us" to your viewers!

...and preceded in the stream by Saiki making a heartfelt statement of what it meant to them. She was very emotional, nearly tearful. "Us" is not about relationship with one person and not about the band alone. It is a love song to their fans, about missing seeing us live. "Us" is a feeling of unity with us and grieving our separation of that time. Which is why this song means so much to true Band-Maid fans.

Maybe their "Grooviest" song. It just to places to jam out. MISA's base and Miku's back up vocals are what make the song for me. Sooo good!!

No ma thing but I do like Audio Active and Dry & Heavy. They are both Japanese and play bits o reggae. That's assuming this lot are Japanese, if not it could be a wee tad embarrasing.

First thing I will say is that clearly there are fans on this channel if this band and if that’s your thing great , crack on and I’m pleased for you . It’s abs not for me , not a fan of their music or style and I cynically wonder if they would be so well regarded if they weren’t young and women ? It’s almost like “ ooo look it’s women ! And they’re playing rock to a reasonable standard , I’m getting on this train “… told you I was cynical 👀 imho if you want to see great rockers who happen to be women check out Fanny from the early 70’s.. hope I haven’t peed you fans of the band off but this is how discussion starts off …😮 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Try some Nissenenmondai. They are a three piece all girl Japanese band that class themselves as "Japanoise". It's an odd sound but I like it. Somewhere between Shoegaze and Industrial.
