While "Thrill" gave Band Maid exposure to the world, I feel that "Alone" was the seminal song in their history. It gave them the confidence to write and record their own "Band Maid Music".

The first song that they wrote themselves that was allowed on an album. This song is around 8 years old now. Miku still has her Rickenbacker, MISA is using a four string bass, and Kanami looks like she's still using Addictone guitars.

Definitely one of the better songs on the *Brand New MAID* album, "Alone" being the first song that Band Maid wrote that was accepted for production by their label and management. "Alone" holds a special place in the hearts and minds of Maidiacs and Band-Maid alike. "Alone" was third on the set list at Yokohama Arena after "Domination" and "Glory".

"Alone" was the first Band-Maid song composed by the girls used as a hit single, its aggressive style with intricate riffs is Kanami's trademark, if you liked it I think you will love their song YOLO, fast, complex and with a fierce guitar solo.😎

I think this video was made for the Maids to practice not tripping over cords on stage during their performances before they went wireless......Lol! Saiki was suffering from vocal chord polyps during this time in her career and dropped her register just to cope with it. She eventually and reluctantly had surgery to remove them the following year from this recording.

Once they were left "Alone" by their record / management companies to create what they wanted, well... look what they did. Alone's somewhat sad, heavy yet empowering story (topics Miku's known for writing about), up against Kanami's up-tempo, complex yet rockin' music is quintessential Band-Maid. BAND-MAID is an important influence and contributor to the music industry with a continuous, growing worldwide fanbase. But to me, they are just the best sounding, best writers of hard rock music, and the most fun, joyous group of musicians to come along since the Beatles! Thx, Joel!

The reason for the difference on vocal style is this is around the time Saiki began having issues with her vocal chords and it really began to limit her. She had vocal chord surgery a year later and it really helped her singing.....

Saiki had throat surgery at some point after this. The result is her vocals are much stronger now. This is very early band maid and the first song written by them. It is a banger. Kanami's solo is next level. Great reaction. Rock on 🤘

Kanami will always say this is her favourite song as this was the first song she wrote that was accepted by the management to be released. After this they were in full control of their destinies.

Yeah, the lyrics to "Alone" are pretty Dark and having not read the prior comments most everyone is going to tell you that it's the first song the Band is credited with writing themselves.

I still think the best part of this video or any of their videos is the very beginning where Saiki slams the mic stand down on the ground, It's like she's saying "F you this is Band Maid" then just rocks out.

MISA MISA MISA!!!!! as this was the first song approved by management that Mincho wrote she had no real understanding (yet) of how to write a vocal melody that fit Sai-chans range so this song ended up being a little uncomfortable for Sai-chan with it being so low (Miku might have been better suited as she has a greater range and can easily reach the lower register)

This song was written by Kanami. She had been writing a lot of songs but producer didn't accept them. This song was her first song accepted. When she wrote this song she didn't catch Saiki's voice range, so Saiki is singing too low voice in the most of part of this song.

It would've been more apt if Elvis had meant B-M when he sung "The Wonder of You". I've seen lots of yew trees & none of them are as awesome as the Maids.
