BAND-MAID BIG NEWS!

BAND-MAID is going independent with their own management!!
This is huge for the band and their fans. I am a bit excited.
No more being held back from questions, no more being hidden from fans on tour, no more mechanical posts on X and Insta. I think we've been seeing glimpses of what's to come by sneak peaks for music and BTS stuff from Kanami........this is good news.

I just got that email! Amazing! With Band-Maid, it isn't just the music, it's their DIY work ethic, their "We will do our best" attitude, and the "Never give up!" mindset. They are proud of everything they do and we always see that "We Made This!" pride in what they are doing. MAIDIT is perfect. I'll never forget the press release video that Saiki and Misa did for their bespoke Band-Maid World Domination jeans. You could that they were genuinely excited and proud for their creation; they were giggling and grinning like school girls beaming with pride. Their fans realize how hard these ladies are working, not just on the music, but on merchandising, publicity, production, art direction, marketing, etc. and they always seem to be on target. Does this mean MAIDIT is their new record label?

From Japan They will be able to act more freely as they like. However, they will have to do things themselves that require a larger budget and preparation. It is unclear whether they will be able to grab a big opportunity. Baby Metal and One Ok Rock are backed by some of the biggest agencies in Japan, and they control everything. They are expanding globally in unison with the agency. Band-Maid will need the support of more fans.

I don't think it's their own label, it's their own management. Those are not the same thing. I am pretty sure they are still with Pony Canyon. It's Platinum Passport where they left (I read it shut down). Also, it seems like it's going to be very similar people that they will be working with. Not sure how much is really going to change, but I am sure some of it will. They will still need people to help them with tours and merch because that stuff is really difficult to do well and it will eat in the time for them to make music. I think this is a really good thing, but it seems like it's just a rename of the same people they worked with because Platinum Passport was shut down by the parrent company. I do think they will have more influence now because the top people in that company are obviously gone from their lives. Apparetly the office they registered for Maidit is the same office that Platinum Passport was using, just rebranded (according to what someone found on rddt).

Wonder if this is the result of them collaborating with artists outside Japan. They really only knew the Japanese recording/agency business before. Once they started collaborating more with overseas artist, they might have heard stuff like "Wait, your agency does that? That's rediculous." etc from other artists. Decided the only way to get out from that is manage themselves. BTW: I assume they're still on Pony Canyon for recording and distribution - they just dropping Platinum Passport as their talent agency and managing their in person stuff directly? Wonder how long before they go full Beatles and start their version of Apple Records...

By the way. I got my epic narratives pack in from CD Japan. Did anyone get the extra CD included that was not inside the package? It’s a one track song and the name of the song is called seasoned. 1:39 seconds long. Came in its own little package with no cover on it but the same artwork the black and silver epic narrative CD. Great song wish it was longer just instrumental.

I've always found Band Maid's merchandise and music sales to be not well coordinated. When I purchased Epic Narratives last week from the Band Maid Store zero merch, no tees or hats. Hopefully this move will help bring everything together and make it easier to support these ladies.

I always think that Miku can be a great band manager. In the comment section of Ohranje YT video about Nek! I said that if Miku Kobato become their manager, they will be succesful. Could it be BM bought Platinum Passport and change it's name to MAIDIT? If they have their own management, I will not surprise if one or two other bands will joint in under the pigeon wings. So now Miku play poker in real music industries then.

Two elements to this I think. Management company was falling apart anyway so the Maids have taken advantage of this and stepped into the top position. They will now have the final say on everything. And the second element is that we have seen in the past that once they took control of their music and Kanami was allowed free rein, the music blossomed, and their talent levels increased and continue to improve. They certainly won't have gone into this hastily and, face it, Kobatu knows how to negotiate, Kanami has an economics degree, and they all know the business inside out. They will gather a top notch team to handle the day-to-day business side. I have no fears on that count. I do still worry that they do too much and need to ease up a little for the sake of their long-term health, but I dare say friends and family have that handled.

All of this is fascinating. And in the context of Japan (where the monster of "Japan Inc." still reigns) it is an even more liberating development.What Japan most lacks,especially for the youth, is opportunity ! This could be the beginning of MUCH more than just a new record label etc.............
