@5:07 Shibukou is a type of slang word for Shibuya Kokaido (Shibuya Public Hall), which is where this concert was performed. Japanese often shorten multiple words and then combine them into a single word, it is very common. Another example, my local train line is called KeiKyu, which is shortened from Keihin Kyuko.

After the Thrill MV, this live video sealed the deal for me...had to deep dive their channel during covid lockdown. My next encounter, and probably my most addicted song, was the 'Dice' MV...just a pristine studio arrangement...exciting, catchy great lyrics/chorus. My heart was taken for keeps 👊❤🥳🤘🤘🤘

In Japan the concerts are very well produced, but outside Japan they play in small venues without all these lighting and so. But as fun as anywhere.

Every concert is like this and even better !! The vibe has kept me going again and again. When they do tour each show is a little different. They change the playlist up and their “MC” time changes too. That’s when they take a break. No opening acts in general. Just almost 30 songs each time. They break all the rules on conventional western bands !!

The OMV is the height of using graphics to tell s story. This live performance of Domination gets the lions share of attention because of the crowd energy and the amazing excellence of the Maids execution. But please check out the OMV. Band Maid Okiyujis are an amazing experience. Much more than even their great music. And everyone is excited to do their part, jumping and cheering and fist pumping. The biggest difference between Maid shows and everyone else? If someone bumps into you while cheering, they will stop and apologize before going back to their insanity 😂

The Japanese explain the meaning of Saiki shouting. (By translation) "SHIBU-KO" (= abbreviation of the venue Shibuya Public Hall) : She is calling out to the audience. "Kakkatte Koiya!" : Come on! (Osaka dialect often used to provoke someone in a fight) In other words, Queen SAIKI often provokes the fans in the venue to liven up the call and response！

Keep doing reaction Band Maid videos. You'll find your subscriber base growing quickly. Maidiacs are fanatics but in a good way. When you get to know more about these wonderful women (all between 30 and 33/34), their character, personalities, behaviour and the way they conduct themselves, you might understand why they attract a certain demographic of fans who are generally positive and respectful people and who are also fiercely protective of these ladies as if they were their daughters or grandaughters. Like attracts like.

Saiki's shout out is, if I understand correctly, creating a sort of contraction of two words Shibuya and Koukaidou. The first word is where they are (Shibuya is a part of Tokyo), and the second translates to the "bring it on" part. So she's essentially saying to like "bring it on, Shibuya crowd!" Another great reaction, Killz! You're doing pretty well on the name pronunciations. Their live shows are a blast, so you're right, you need to go! That said, no moshing allowed! They have lots of kids and women that attend, and they like to keep the shows high-energy, but peaceful. But you'll have fun singing along and joining in the "Hey, hey, hey!" chants, fists up in the air. The MV for this one IS a lot of fun, and has more symbolism in it than any other of their videos. Looking forward to you checking it out.. and the other 140 or so songs they have left for you to check out!

See them live, but be aware that they don't have a pit. I think at some point, fans got too riled up, and Miku ended up getting hit with a mic stand or something and they've banned them at their shows since. Also, they have a throwback sound, so a lot of their fans are older rock fans, and people with kids. It's just not really that kind of environment. I saw a comment at some point where someone was talking about going to another band's shows, and they'd leave all pumped up, wanting to flip over cars and destroy things, but they went to a Band-Maid show, and they left feeling like they could solve world hunger. Band-Maid just has such a positive, empowering message, like half their songs are about trying your best, not wasting your time, etc. And they're just such personally sweet people, you can understand why it's different.

@@IKillzUm You can experience a good moshpit and crowdsurfing at a HANABIE concert, another awesome Japanese female metal band. They are touring around the world and next year as well. Maybe they will come near to you. I visited two of their concerts and it was always a lot of fun.
