Yep who can forget all them classic "POP" songs that transitioned from a blazing drum solo into a awesome guitar solo.🤣
@misterkite
@misterkite 3 жыл бұрын
That's not unheard of in Japan's pop scene. " There's a lot of very heavy metal-oriented pop music in Japan, and there's a lot of very guitar-oriented pop music in Japan" " I think that's what is fun for me about being in Japan, because you can see the pop chart and look at the first few songs, and there's a guitar solo in one and a heavy riff in the other and some progressive-sounding things in the other" Those are direct quotes from Marty Friedman... the ex-lead guitarist for Megadeth.
@GaryHolloway-810

@@misterkite Yeah that's cool but because the reactors are English like i am, they would've been referring to Western pop. We do have guitar driven pop bands in England but the vast majority have always been synth driven with a electronic programmed drum track.

This song was an early song by BAND MAID, written by Miku Kobato, and composed by another writer. But it's the song they play most often in live performances. As you can see, in this song they move around, looking at each other and laughing. It's a song they enjoy with plenty of time. That moment cannot be reset Struggle, resist, break, and connect to the future Like to be a freedom

@@starocean6013 It's probably the last Freedom they sang on May 10th Maid Day. At that time, Kanami was successful. In this video, they gather around Akane, smash their faces, Akane throw kisses at Saiki, Kanami crouch down on Kobato's vocals, and move as they like.

Great reaction and this is one of the songs that they almost always play at concerts even thought it was written for them (Brand New Maid album, released in 2016), they love to play this fun song and it really hypes the audience. It is a bit more poppy but that's OK as it was still early in their careen before they started writing their own songs..

Lately I've seen some comments that have made 'Freedom' to something like the unofficial anthem of the ladies. And I'm inclined to agree, as this performance (but also others) of this song pretty well covers everything that Band-Maid is about. Technically good music with catchy choruses, well-built solos that leave you wanting more, and just the fun the ladies have doing what they do which is infectious for the audience on site but also for the viewers of the video. You could say the song conveys exactly what the title promises. A certain kind of freedom for them but also for us. (I know, I am not good with words) Moreover, I think the song is placed quite well in the middle of the styles they have played so far. They can be heavier like with 'Rinne', or quieter like with 'About Us'. 【 'Our rock never dies ever. Forever!' - Band-Maid 】🕊️

Great reaction guys. That transition between the drum solo and guitar solo is so smooth. That is what I love about their live performance, they add these little extra parts and integrate them seamlessly into the song structure. Play is another great example how they elevate an already great song into excellence. They have (as far as I know) made 3 different intros to the song, which are not to be found on the original album. The 1st one was bass slap heaven. The second (which is found on their official channel) is a musical conversation between all members. The third was introduced for the first time 2 weeks ago in their online concert, and it surprised and delighted all the viewers (me included). Probably their best yet.

I think the reason Band Maid are so instantly addictive to western audiences is the music is very old style rock. You will hear a bit of soft punk as well in some of their songs. Once you go deeper the lyrics in English are also fascinating in some of their songs. Then you get to know the story of the band and the Women themselves. They are simply a breath of fresh air. I have been around since the early Sixties. They are right up there with the very best.

As a general rule, BAND-MAID's music is hard rock heavily influenced by pop punk (esp Akane's drumming). You can also find jazz, prog, and old school heavy metal in there pretty easily. @omneil You don't need to subscribe and you are welcome to watch any of our reactions. Not quite sure why you think that, we just enjoy music of any type and will give most of them a fair view, we actually have reacted to Dice, Freedom and No God so far and I even went off and watched a guy the review the "custom Zemaitis Flappy Pidgeon" guitar as I am interested in guitars.(on the No God reaction) We did state that they are all great musicians and picked out the drum solo into the guitar solo in Freedom, so not sure where we may have said anything negative, the "No God" song is a bit too experimental for our taste but we gave it a watch We also checked out Lovebites and a load of Nightwish, none of it something we would have considered listening to previously, but our musical knowledge has improved. If you are only interested in Band-Maid then we are probably not the channel for you as we just like to move around and find other bands we know nothing about, but you welcome along to see where we end up. Not much else to add, we just do this for a bit of fun and have no musical expertise and have two left feet, so don't expect any technical breakdown and vocal coaching from us, we don't have a clue.!! Cheers

I would say it's more Power Pop. If you like Power Pop or Power Punk check out 'Blooming'. And don't forget to check out the 'BAND-MAIKO songs. Unless you want more LIVE then check out 'Real Existence' LIVE. But if you want something more Metal influenced, check out their heaviest song of all, 'Rinne'.

@T Zero OK, thanks for the information, we will get to check out more very soon. We will give most of them a try but our style so far seems to be the "Rock-Punk" perhaps, metal is not quite our cup of tea but we still give it a go.

You guys are spot on when you said... "depending on my mood"... because sometimes you need a certain song to make you smile and be happy. Even on your WORST day... just play the Freedom video and it makes everything better! Btw, we knew this would get you guys smiling... and you did! There are many facets of Band Maid... Metal, Hard Rock, Progressive, Pop, Ballads, etc etc etc Below is a few other songs to get you started on your road to becoming a "Maidiac" Not that you have to review it all... just because it's damn good music. It won't be long before you realize that these five young Japanese girls are saving (and preserving) great Rock n' Roll music. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4fVf2CglLqWZrc kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6K0n35_gbdoq5I kzbin.info/www/bejne/iHTEloihp66nr7s kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3e6poCulNWefpY

Guys guys guys ! You wont have any request for this Band Maid song yet , as it was just released. live broadcast of a new song off the album . Song is No God and it looks like another level up for them and my fave song after 2 listens. Following them since 2016 so thats big for me. by the way Jimmy Page saw them in Tokyo live , wanted to get a selfie with drummer Akane and told her she was the reincarnation of John Bonham and that Kanami was " The best guitarist i have seen since me !" cheeky sod haha. please give this a spin, it is rockin big time . Lovin your reviews, subscibed too. keep em up, Japan is where its at for Hard Rock n Metal atm, cheers. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHLHiKF_h896l80

One really good thing from those bands, and maybe i´m goona have a lot of critics about this and let me put a warning... this is only my personal opinnion is that all female bands have a different aproach to music. Don´t get me wrong, i support all the equality for the women, same rights and obligations but also in Japan and a lot more places, to be a woman at the same level of a man you don´t need to be a man. Women have their own aproach to things and see all those smiles in a live concert it´s really a fresh air breeze after years of serious faces playing. OMG... you´re playing music, at least pretend you´re enjoying it!. Btw, after one of those concerts, Jimmy Page praised and speak with Akane and say´s that she is an impresive drummer. I´m no expert in music, but if Jimmy Page says this... well, maybe he is right. All female bands in Japan are not a novelty, they have some really old bands in this fashion. Just as an example i can mention Shonen Knife, a punk-rock band with a really big influence from bands like "The Ramones" (they even have an album calles "Osaka Ramones) and they are still active. One of the favorite bands of Curt Cobain. The lead singer is now 60 years ols and still rocking. Take this as a suggestion. They play a really fun music, simple but fun kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5fWgKKYbLCDmbs When i must reach my 60th, i wanna be like them
