Congratz to KANAMI, the first Japanese PRS signature model guitar “KANAMI LIMITED EDITION” (only 200) Kanami is the first Japanese guitarist with a signature guitarist from PRS kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4W3eKyklrmsq8Ufeature=shared
さっきBARKSのインタビュー記事(12/15)読んでましたが、最後の方にKANAMIが「ガーデンシアターでは新曲もお聴かせできたらいいなあ」👀と言っていたので、、、、楽しみです💓 I just read the BARKS interview article (Dec/15), and toward the end, Kanami said, "It would be nice if we could play new songs at the Garden Theater," ... so I'm looking forward to it.
Now having listened to this song maybe 200 times, my favourite part is when Kanami starts to soar from about 2:05, followed by Misa's solo which is less technical than "usual" but contributes to the unexpected mood swings this surprisingly emotional instrumental has.

Having lived in Japan for some time, I found that the Japanese put 200% passion into everything they do. These ladies are operating at 1000% passion! 🖤🤍🖤

I used to think that La Villa Strangiato by Rush was the best rock instrumental until I first saw this. Very often, Misa steals the show on bass, but this one shows just how brilliant a lead guitarist Kanami is, as well as a genius composer. I’m 71 and totally obsessed with these unbelievably brilliant ladies since I first saw them only 3 months ago. How have I missed them? They should be world famous.

Welcome! Actually there are a lot of Rush fans among Band-Maid fans! There must be something in common between them.

It never ends with these Japanese bands, I swear to you. A few to look for, and don't be afraid to just click on recommendations: Nemophila, Lovebites, Doll$boxx, HANABIE. That will get you started. Oh and Asterism and D_Drive. There are more, so many more...

I'm going to be the very honest here and this is going to be a long post, so get ready. Also english is not my first language, just so you know if you find some sentences weird. I would call myself a "heavy" music lover . I don't want to go into the specific of metal, dark metal, heavy metal, power metal, power rock, trash, nu metal, classical, pagan, folk metal, melodic death metal, progressive rock or all the genra (the fauna ?) of genre we have now, so instead i'm going to list a bit of band i consider to have had an influence on my listening: Of course i will start with this anomaly of nature, these fucking gods that are Iron Maiden which have completely changed the way I approach music. The progression, the virtuosity, the guitar solos, the drums are just divine and even the lyrics are masterfully crafted. How many nights have I spent with my headphones wondering about the futility of life and its fragility listening to Hallowed Be Thy Name or wondering about the cruel and fascinating nature of our world with Ghost of The Navigator, i've saw wars and mountains of corpses listening to this band, the old and new, everything about Iron Maiden is just pure class, pure mastery, how many time did i replay part of their songs feeling crushed by the weight of the absolute awesomness of what i'm listening to ? God, not enough on my account, and it amount to thousand of hours. Of course I need to talk about Black Sabbath and their simple riff, their simplicity, how straightforward this band is and yet, obviously, this simplicity is behind one of the greatest band of all time, an absolute marvel of curiosity, of power, with crystal clear riff and lyrics that just talk to your soul. Black Sabbath is a diamond of pure class in this music style. You can lose your mind listening to this and you will. Oh, we all listened to Metallica, I mean I had Metallica as my alarm clock. The entire house got awaken by Battery. I listenenned to Orion too many times when i was tired of Hetfield voice and i was tired of his voice because I listened too much of Metallica, "Master Master !!" this will always be a part of me, this is not lyrics, it is mantra, this is my Quran. Battery, Sanatorium, Leper Messiah, and their blue album with an electric chair, the solo of Fade to Black, god what a contribution to music... I had a long punk era, listening to Propagandhi, the Virus, NOFX, The Descendents, Bad Religion, Leftover crack, a lot and i mean A LOT of punk bands, Rancid, Offspring, No use for a name, ramones, and so on, the time where there was so much punk band your speaker was blasting all the time, yeah I confessed I l loved some Blink 182, the teenagers rebel bands, sum 41, goldfinger, i listened to a lot of punk back then. What a blast. I was also struck by lightning with all the Djent era, especially Meshuggah who just lost everyone, i mean it is the only band i know where the drummer actively try to mislead the all band, their polyrythmic sense is out of this world. Gojira, Periphery etc all this Djent stuff was amazing. I'm slowly realizing that i'm not organized, bands are popping everywhere, In Flames and their Colony album, Dio, those bastards from Lake Bodom, I mean the Fucken Children of Bodom with the best melodic death metal of all time IMO, I'm thinking of Kalmah an astonishing Death Metal band too. Of course you must think of your own bands, how can we forget Deftones, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit oh they were good at first. They brought something. We had all this TOOL moment too, my god what a blast, Lateralus, Aenema, 10 000 days, what a band. We could take a step back and talk about Judas Priest, we need to at least talk about Korn and their approach to nu metal. There was Papa Roach, We had Balck Bomb A, oh and we are back to Pantera, we travel to Jimmy the fucking Hendrix, and we have so much mushroom in our blood now we are talking Led Zeppelin "to be a rock and not to roll" like the Rolling Stones. There are so much bands rising now, The Accused, AC/DC, Alice in chains, Anthrax, those gods who made an album called Reign In Blood, Deep purple, Def leppard, Motorhead ... What an history of ROCK. Yes, i settled to call all of this ROCK. All these bands are guys. Men, strong, aggresive. Because this is us. A music of power. So when i first stumbled on BAND-MAID "Thrill" on YT I'm going to be honest. I saw the thumbnail; I mean it is a band of maid. Of girls, like cute girls who will play "rock". I know what it is, it is this feminist thing, like we will all pretend that women can do metal/rock too, but the true rock fans will know this is just bullshit, this is just to satisfy an era of female equality. This is just to satisfy some agenda, the gender equality agenda, and we will need to fight all those trolls who will pretend that this band of ridiculous japanese maid can contribute to the same kind of music that Iron Maiden did. So i clicked on that video anyway, to listen to their take on "rock", probably trying to prove that rock should be more "soft", not a bunch of hard sound, of aggressive sounds, like a delicate take on the genra. Oh there was some awesome girls in metal before, think Arch Enemy, but they had a lot of guys around supporting the sound. So anyway, let's listen to that band of japanese maid, lol. Another modern crap. Fools trying to play rock. I don't remember exactly how many times I played Thrill but it was the only song i listened that night. I didn't like it. To like or dislike was not the point. To like or dislike is something you do when you are sane, when you can reason about something. I was shocked. Not only was I completely blasted away, I mean i was in fucking deep love, I was thinking that this was the sound of something I didn't heard in a long time. I mean all this time I was listening to band that had talents, that were following in the tracks of their predecessors, who had a great sound and all... But this was something else. Not only was it the best sound I had heard in years, maybe a decade, I just sensed a raw feeling behind... It took time to understand it. The word is PASSION, an absolute passion for music, a true and surreal feeling inside the music. Their music is coated with something out of this world. I have listened to all their albums now. I was planning to go to Japan to see them (missed it because of covid). What I need to say, and i thought of this a lot, is that in all those bands I listenned to and love... I can pick a favorite band out of all now. And my favorite fucking rock band of all time, of more than 25 years listening to a lot of rock music, being passonate about it, that band is called BAND-MAID. A band of girls dressed a japanese maid. Yeah, and they destroyed music for me. They made Iron Maiden second. Just thank you for all, thank you for existing, thanks for being a gift to music. My favorite fucking band ever, I've never thought that possible, but it is.

I think many Band-Maid fans have a similar story. I have listened to many bands and genres over the years and had bands/songs I would call my favorites for the time being, but I NEVER, and i fuckin mean NEVER EVER even came close to loving a band as much as I do now with Band-Maid.

It was the best live performance in my 60 years at Tokyo Garden Theater! Immediately, I am suffering from maid loss from the next day. The announcement of this year's live schedule must have left the European fans feeling like they were thrown into the abyss. I hope next year will be a European tour. Since they performed so well in the US tour, it was inevitable that they would be in demand in the US, and it would be nice if Download and Wacken added them!
Every Band-Maid instrumental is epic. From Now On really showcases the genius-level musicianship and God-tier songwriting capabilites of these wonderful, incredible ladies. May all of us Maidiacs rock with Band-Maid forever ... and Akane is a goddess!
If it takes cute and talented young ladies from Japan to keep the metal spirit alive, so be it. God knows we let it die here in the USA.

This feels like listening to a Mozart's symphony. What an exceptional group of musicians. They should try making a fully instrumental album (not to disrespect the vocalist, she is an amazing singer herself). But just imagine what kind of sound and music they will produce next with this masterpiece as the "first taste"..

They have a bunch of instrumentals and also produced an instrumental version of their last full album, sold with the full score book.

Attention-grabbing concert intro. I saw them open for The Last Rockstars in LA, didn't want to spoil myself on the concert and had no idea who the opening act would be. A giant "BAND-MAID" logo came up on the screen, and I laughed, disbelieving that someone would call their band that. Then 4 Japanese ladies in maid outfits came out on stage and picked up their instruments, and I thought, "wait a second, I'm about to get my face melted, aren't I?" They played this song, my face melted, then the singer came out dressed in all black and I realized that these people are serious...

Everyone has doubts when they first see them. The assumption is you're going to get some crappy simple pop music. And then they start playing. It's all part of Miku's plan to subvert expectations and it works every time.
