This is one of the best instrumentals I have ever heard. That is not to say that the ones that BAND-MAID made after this were not good, when this song came out and when I "found" it there was nothing like it that I had heard before. It is the perfect non-lyrical way to introduce a band to someone who hesitates to jump in the waters of Japanese rock and metal. They fire on all cylinders and each member gets a chance to shine. Absolutely LOVE this song.

I am an old geezer that has over the years pretty much heard them all but for the past 25 years listened mainly to opera and classical. I discovered Band maid by accident and I am mesmerised. The outfits are clever and cute but the real strength of this group lies in the vast talent each member brings to the party. Even Miku who is much cleverer than the pigeon image she projects has developed into a first class support singer and guitarist. Each individual is as the top of their game with huge talent. I just wonder how such seemingly 'ordinary' young women have such talent for heavy rock. Black Sabbath I could understand but Band Maid?

@@finchwaddledog5026 seen from my position, I am old as well, there is an interesting discussion, that's not really happening. What is often forgotten, is a certain frustration in the boomer generation and the next one, about weak participation of women. Many of us would so have loved when women did what then was supposed to be a "boy thing", like hard rock music, or punk (a couple yrs later, less than one female rock musician among a hundred males), or certain sports, and rocking the public political scene with talking truth. But in most countries, they didn't, it was not cool, and if there was any desire, it was kept secret. There was only a handful of women, like two in politics, two in a punk band, one in fashion (think Vivienne Westwood) who had any progressive relevance (in the meaning back then). So for me this means "why not already when we were young?" I would have preferred a rock'n'roll woman to a princess any time. (For marriage she would have to be "straight" but that's another topic. Not every female rock star is like Joan Jett. In Japan it seems very mixed and probably has become a non-issue, except perhaps in conservative feuilleton.) It was the privileged guys who took part in preventing this, not the "deplorables".

I have been listening to them pretty much since they came out on KZbin and I wonder how they manage to make so many good songs. The inspiration in most bands seems to dry up at some point and they end up making a couple of songs that are meh! or just sound like another good song they made. But it seems all the Band-Maid songs are good and have a distinct personality and sound. It's like they take the coolest ideas from all types of rock and manage to make something good and unique with them every time. They never overuse anything. Everything seems perfectly measured. It is almost uncanny.

I am not a drummer, but I'm listening to rock (and other) music for 36 years now and I consider Akane as one of the best drummers currently around, because she knows how to make her beats count. Nothing sounds random. It's all so well placed and recognizable. The drum fill at 3:04 and the outro are just epic, because they fit the song so well. That said, the mixing of this concert is insanely good.

Ive always said Akane makes the whole band click with her drumming. Dont get me wrong everyone is super awesome! I fucking love band maid but that Drum presence is so good. Same with Misa the bass just give it ummph.. Both Kanami and Miku gel together so good.. then the vocals completes it.. God.. outside of One Ok Rock i think they might just be the best in terms of music creativity from Japan right now.

Just discovered Japanese all-girl hard rock and metal bands and so far I am impressed by Lovebites and Band maid. While I find the guitar duo (M&M) of Lovebites absolutely top notch (I really find it hard to pinpoint a better guitar duo in any metal band nowadays) I think the rythm section of Band Aid also kills it. The bassist is really top-notch and the drummer is aggressive and precise AF. Damn good bands, I say!

I strongly recommend the band DOLL$BOXX. Of all of these bands, they happen to be my favourite even if they only have 1 major release (from 2012). They are a supergroup formed from the members of Gacharic Spin and the singer of Unlucky Morpheus (two other bands you might also be interested in)
