I just got back from Tokyo last night. And I'll tell you what someone told me. Whatever you can do to make the trip happen, do it. Because it's everything and more than I could've imagined. Greatest experience of my 53 years on earth and largely inspired by these ladies and other bands. I did not see a show while I was there, but I did enter an overseas lottery, was selected, and now have a ticket to the "Day of Maid" show May 10th at Zepp Haneda. Yeah, I almost cried because even tho I have seen them in the states, I now will be fulfilling a bucket list item and seeing this amazing show in person

In three live songs, they seduced you. 😁 They are femme fatales. Their rock contains different elements from other rock genres and not just rock, which they put together with a personal and unique touch. Their variability comes from very diverse musicians and groups who have strongly inspired them, which is why it is impossible to place them in a precise genre. They are also at ease in acoustic songs. A simply awesome group. Thanks for your reaction. No tears for this once Belle.

No tears this time around! This song is very unique lyrically for the ladies 180 degrees away from their typically uplifting, positive, " let's take over the world, it'll be fun!! " attitude. ATT'N to Adele, T Swift, A Morrisette etc . Now THIS is how you write a break-up song! From the JPOP WIKI page "BAND-MAIKO is a sub-unit of BAND-MAID that first appeared as an April Fool's Day prank on April 1, 2018. New release from Yokohama Arena tomorrow (20th). BM fans know what song it is from the thumbnail - you MUST NOT under any circumstances react to it unless you have a large box of tissues handy. A bit of context, Kanami wrote this song around 5 years ago hoping and dreaming that one day they would close a show in a big arena with it, so as you will see from the performance it meant a lot to them, it's a song that's affected Akane in the past at a small show.

This is from the final performance of Band Maids 10 year anniversary tour. To see where they came from you need to see their video for the song, Thrill. Believe it or not Band Maid was almost dropped by their management company. At first, they were a generic J-Pop band, and they released an album, but it did not sell very well, and the management company met with the band and said that due to the low sales they were considering releasing them from the contract. Miku and the ladies bargained with the management co and proposed they make a MV and release it on KZbin. The company agreed and the ladies picked a B-side song that they had wrote as opposed to the other songs that were written for them. The video was shot with a shoestring budget, just the band in a white room with a couple costume changes. The video was then posted to YT and the wait began. At first it did not get many views but somehow some YT music reactors found the video and praised it. More and more YT reactors watched it and it now has over 20 MILLION views! They finished their 10 year anniversary tour and will going into the studio soon to record their next album.

Hey Belle and Finn! 👋 Thanks for your reaction, Po 👍 I am pretty sure that now is the time for: Either the double feature "Manners, Blackhole" 🎸🥁 (Official Live Video) Or "Daydreaming" 🎙🎶 (Official MV) ... to get some different sound from them 🕊 Manners and Blackhole are both very different, and so is Daydreaming. The first double feature video is an online live performance during Covid. They had to play two songs because the government supported bands that released a video of a certain minimum length (something like that). So with that video you not only get two songs but also two very different sides of Bandmaid.

At their best Band Maid can produce controlled chaos like no other band. At their worst Band Maid can produce controlled chaos like no other band. Lyrics written by Saiki the singer as opposed to Miku who usually writes them. This ten year anniversary celebration and their promise that they want to continue is helped when every member of the Band has an integral part to play.

You guys would love the Band-Maid “Gold Rush” TV interview they did a while back! You get to see a glimpse of each member’s personality plus quite bit of one member’s deep love for another member (no hints). 😂 Plus Ohrenje’s Documentaries on each member are amazing. He’s in the process of adding more content. Version 2 of Lead Singer Saiki’s out. It ends with a 3- part video on founder Miku Kobato, our little pigeon founder of the band. 🕊️ They are extraordinarily well done with voice actor overlays and professional narration. From Japan The secret of BAND-MAID may be that all five members have taken piano lessons and that two members have perfect pitch. The main composer is Kanami, who has perfect pitch, and now a single song is created by collecting ideas from all the members. Bassist Misa is also said to have perfect pitch. They know how to make a song cool and can execute it.　Next, I recommend the ballad masterpiece, Daydreaming.

"Hectic in a good way". Yep! Their fastest song is BLACK HOLE (with a 220bpm ending that Akane, the drummer, labelled 'Hell'.) The live version is on their YT channel and is part of a double bill with the masterpiece that is MANNERS. Love to see you reacting/melting to those! If Belle wears a maid outfit, we won't complain either. Hell, you can both wear one! Herman Li wore one for his 'audition' with Band-Maid, available on his YTchannel if you want to react to it (hint, hint!). PS The dvd of the gig this performance is from is released in 12 days and I'm looking forward to receiving mine as they are pretty booked up until August so are unlikely to tour the UK untilafter that. It cost me £55 from their Pony Canyon merch site, including postage and is the closest you'll get to see them for now so treat yourselves maybe?

Welcome back to the Maids ❤🎉 I adore this band; saw them live last year; driving a 19 hour round trip; bought every single album and have the t-shirts to prove it. I say all that because I have to admit that I don’t love this particular song. I put it in my playlist, but it’s near the bottom of 60 songs. Band Maid has written and recorded a ton of brilliant, creative, catchy and inspiring music. And it’s those songs that keep “Hate?” out of the top tier for me, personally. Love the idea of getting your own “battle gear!” Pick something that you’ll be comfortable in when you both get to see Band Maid in action. Puzzle live acoustic zepp 2018 -- very different than the full-band version. Just Saiki and Kanami who also sings harmony. Heartfelt. Intense. Has been known to produce tears (Anemone acoustic which followed Puzzle, if it's available, is beautiful and emotionally gentler)

Yes you like it musically but what did you think of the story . If you didn’t know about the song and you heard it you might think it’s about something happy but it’s all anger . Literally cos flying from the UK you go out over Europe and China and back over the Pacific and Canada so all the way around !! Band-Maid is one of my favorite bands and although the bass and guitar solo on this song is very impressive, I find the mix a little dirty and congested. You should explore the less "edgy" and slightly softer side of Band-Maid. Hi! This music was composed during COVID 19 when Japan and the rest of the world many women were raped by girlfriends, husbands and the like. Saiki, the main lyricist on this, heard a lot of complains from friends and acquaintances that she got angry and the result was the lyrics down bellow. Lyrics It's enough. @@RealLifeCoupleReact To my knowledge, Saiki has not stated a specific reason behind the song. As with most things , lots of rumors, and great sounding stories.

​@DAVID-io9nj Saiki had mentioned reading about all the cheating that happened during the lockdowns, and mentioned a friend of hers had been cheated on. She said that's why she wrote the lyrics. She said when Kanami first sent her the demo, she felt like it was an explosion. I still want to know what lyrics Miku wrote for the demo, though. Miku said that everyone chose Saiki's lyrics, including her.

@@ApexRadius Yeah, Saiki also said that it was inspired by the scene in _The Simpsons_ where the father and son fight and the son, Bart, repeatedly says "I hate you!" in rapid fire. She explained that the song title can also be read as "ha-te?" in Romanized Japanese, which means something like "huh?", and according to Kobato, Saiki usually says "ha-te?" a lot (source: SPICE interview).
