Glad you're feeling better. Welcome back. The Warning played 3 shows in Japan in June, 1 with Band Maid. They flew over a couple weeks early, net up with Band Maid, finished the song, and filmed the MV. They did play it live at that 1 joint show, with all 8 ladies on stage, but only a teaser clip has been officially released so far. There is fan cam footage of the full song, but DO NOT react to it, many that did got copyright strikes. Song is on the upcoming Band Maid album Kanami composed the song, making it challenging for everyone. Wrote it in a key higher than Saiki and Dany usually sing in. Lyrics credited to Miku and The Warning. In the lead up to this release, shorts were posted highlighting the 'duels', Ale vs Misa, Kanami vs Dany, etc, plus a solo short for Miku. In an interview on PRS Guitars Japan with Kanami and Dany, they said that the 2 bands should get together again in Mexico. Dany made the challenge to do a song in Spanish. In one of the interviews mentioning a possible future collab, Dany joked that it would be in a lower key.

Older guy, from the Van Halen and Rush days, thinking the best of Rock was behind us. These ladies prove me wrong with every song. I love it that WOMEN are taking charge. I personally think Band Maid is the best band of all-time, but made better with The Warning. Miku, the founder of Band Maid, usually does the lyrics and are more meaningful than anything I’ve ever heard. Great reaction, don’t hold back the tears. Dany's grito scream at the beginning is pure mariachi. Kanami wrote the song to stretch Saiki and Dany's vocal range. They didn't think that they could do it, but Mincho showed them they could.

Although the bands had known of each other and were social media mates. They actually met up at a festival in the US. There is footage of them screaming and smiling and acting like kids at a party. They promised to work together. The Warning were on a World Tour and so this song and lyrics were set out by Kanami and Miku of Band Maid. They then had back and forth emails with plenty of input and suggestions by The Warning. Band Maid recorded their parts and the when The Warning had time in Japan they recorded their parts with the vocals recorded together. Both bands want to work together again. Great to see genuine collaboration suggestion by the bands and not a record company invention. Clearly The Warning are better at English than Band Maid and so the English lyrics were polished and scrubbed. Always empowering and moving. A great song.

Her speech is critical, IMO because the song was written right after the biggest show of the bands' lives was canceled from Covid. Yeah, I'm in my sixties and like both bands. Band-Maid is my favorite band now for six years running, because they always plaster a big grin on my face. I also find myself tearing up a lot, and for what it's worth my theory is this. Their songs (even without the lyrics) have this very uplifting quality. Add the insane level of musicianship, the lyrics, which are very inspirational and positive usually, plus the fact that these ladies are just phenomenal hard working people that actively cultivate that close relationship with their fans, and you have this supernova of positive energy - which in these times (war, divisive media, and on and on) can be overwhelming. One of the first ever viral youtube videos was the "double rainbow man" - who wept openly at the beauty of a double rainbow. Lots of people made fun of him, but sometimes things just make you feel so good you cry. That's my theory, at least for myself. Band-Maid every day - that's this doctor's prescription.

Thanks from Japan 有難う 💛。 I witnessed the live debut of this song 😍 that was played together (once and only to date) as the encore & finale of the special concert by Band-Maid & The Warning on June 12 in Roppongi, Tokyo . My seat was located on the 2nd floor but in the center meaning in front of the two drummers. I was in bliss! It looked to me that Paulina and Akane literally and happily competed like a duel to see which drummer can kick harder enough to break their bass drum in the joint performance. 🤣 (FYI : In the special concert, The Warning, who opened as the special guest, performed so powerful that the Maids were fired up to start their turn with fullest energy as the hostess band. It was fun like a kind of martial arts between two fighters respecting each other. 😄) Note : Please check a video recently released in The Warning official channel that captures beautiful friendship with Band-Maid. It was filmed in Japan.

Even grizzled old geezers like myself have shed tears because of Band-Maid. At their 10th Anniversary Tour finale, Kanami did a guitar solo as an opening for "Daydreaming". Out of nowhere tears started rolling down my face. The quietly beautiful introduction pierced my soul and I think that's what brought the tears. Maybe that's why Band-Maid brings many listeners to tears. 😂

The entire band had me in tears two songs later when they performed "About Us." I still can't watch Kanami's "Daydreaming" intro from that concert without getting hit in the feels. She once said something along the lines of Carlos Santana's playing heals her soul. Well, Kanami's compositions and playing (and the lyrics of her fellow genius Kobato) heal my soul.

It is a really good combination of two great bands. What do I think? • The lyrics are a really strong empowering message IMHO • I like that they did not try to do too much, which on one hand makes the music a bit less complex than either band’s other offerings, but it makes it that 8 players can play it and make it clean. It would be really easy to make a big'ol hot mess of this if they all tried to do too much. • The trade-offs really point out to me that each of the instrumentalists are so individually skilled and approach their parts in slightly different ways. No winners or losers. No battle. Just a lovely 4 or 8 beat display of the variety of approaches and talents for a solo section. • It is nice and compact at 3:21. I have seen plenty of collabs over the years which turn into rambling oeuvres that don't go anywhere musically. This one just feels nice and tidy to me.

Love the reaction. I knew you were gonna cry, Belle, when I saw that you guys were reacting to this song, because of the female-empowerment lyrics. And don't worry: As others have noted here, Band-Maid regularly leaves a lot of us, including some of us grizzled old guys, in tears. There was a comment some time ago on a Band-Maid video where a fan said they were like a band of witches or fairies from another planet sent down to heal our souls, or something like that. There are times when I believe he was right. Also, as others have noted, you've got to watch The Warning's vlog of their time with Band-Maid. It will definitely hit you in the feels. The affection and respect between these bands is palpable and heartwarming.

Miku also had a solo project that was originally meant as an April Fool's side-project, named "Peace and Love"!!! In that project, she calls herself Cluppo. Hope all's ok. Your health is a lot more important than anything else. We could write a good book on what you've probably missed with The Warning. I've never been a fan of Band-Maid until they got together. TW has been up to a LOT lately with dropping their 4th album the end of June, live performances all over Europe and now the US and Canada. A live performance on US national TV, live perrformances for MTV Push and VEVO and now releasing GREAT videos of their live performance at "Pepsi Center CDMX"(Mexico City) from last year that out does their performance at "Teatro Metropolitan". Other than that, it's been kinda boring...😂 Take care and welcome back!! 🤟⚡TWA

Excellent reaction, it's always touching how a song can represent so much to someone... maybe to many the lyrics are the least important thing, but one thing the girls of The Warning and Bandmind know how to do is to have lyrics in their lyrics and not just rely on instrumentation.

By the way, did you make it to Leeds for TW earlier this year?
