Saw them in Minneapolis two nights after this show. They all looked really happy, having fun, and playing around with each other and the crowd. So glad they are not just going through the motions. If you have the opportunity to see them live, go!

IMHO; best rock band around. Consistent excellent composition and just incredible, tight live performance with a ton of heart and fun. Rock does not always have to be full of angst; even "hate" is delivered with a sense of fun.

They just finished the lolla afternoon set, smaller crowd than I hoped for but they rocked it and Saiki seemed to have fun. Hot as hell. Closed with Endless story which seems to mean a lot to them.

Saiki is shy and vulnerable. She appeared solo on Japanese TV and froze, couldn't sing. Never tried that again. She needs the support of the band who believes in her. She glories in the approval of the audience, which she wanted and worked hard for.

When was the last time before this they got the "one last song" chant? It's a great sign, because people who know the band know they don't do encores, so there must have been people there who were new to Band-Maid and were sufficiently captivated not just to join the chant, but to lead it.

There were a good number of people chanting for one more last time they were in Chicago, as well. Only lasted a few minutes because it became obvious they were not coming back out.

It was funny. All the people with band maid shirts and gear were getting ready to leave when the others were chanting

I lived in Japan. I don't remember there ever being an encore. J people are extremely punctual and systematic. You have to experience it to really get the idea. I went to an Avril Lavigne concert in Taipei. When the band left the stage the audience immediately started to leave too. Avril had to send some dancers out to drum up applause for the encore. Same thing in Bali. The performances are traditional so everyone knows when they are over without being told. The instant it finishes everyone immediately gets up and leaves. It used to be they didn't even applaud.
