Psi and Bella, I agree with you 100% that Band Maid should be playing in much larger arenas. They deserve the big stage, the big lights and the big sound. They can easily handle it. They're performances at the large festivals prove that.

This song is an example of how they make something that's complex and intricate yet still really accessible. They throw in a few bars of 5/4 and for musicians it's like catnip, and yet for non-musicians it's still a bop. I think some progressive bands (and some I really really like, like King Crimson or Dream Theater) are too impenetrable for non-musicians - like you can't appreciate their mastery if you're not _in the club._ But Band-Maid seems to make it feel really natural and everybody can appreciate it. They haven't forgotten why they make music.

Very well said. “Accessible” is a word I was searching for.

It does amaze me how they are still playing such small venues. Not that I'm complaining. I just got to see them in Atlanta at about a 1000 capacity theater and ot was amazing. I hope they continue to increase their venue sizes. They deserve it. Enjoy the show in August.

Band-Maid puts these instrumental songs in to give Saiki a vocal break. Usually, Miku's song and her Magic Time are also right together with an instrumental. Although recently, the whole band gets involved with the crowd during breaks now. Lots of fun, for sure!

This is the song that made me a fan for the rest of my life. My first was Freedom, then Onset. Freedom got my attention, Onset locked me in.

Soon to be seen at Yokohama Arena, Budokan, Saitama, and even bigger venues, like Tokyo Dome. These ladies are the 2023 Beatles.

Onset is the song that caught my attention when I first discovered Band Maid. The way every instrument works together to create a great rhythm, and then taking turns playing off that rhythm. It reminded me of "YYZ" by RUSH and I was intrigued. Now, a few years later, I'm so deeply rooted in this "pigeon hole" I'll never get out...and I'm good with it! 🎶🎸🥁🎸🎶🔥🙂🕊

Name any other current band that does multiple rock instrumentals that have this level of melodic content. Intro, verse, chorus, bridge, etc. And do heavy metal, hard rock, pop rock, punk beats, heart-wrenching ballads (About Us), and don’t forget Saiki can rap (Influencer) Will they achieve the level of critical or commercial success they deserve? I really don’t know. But I hope so

This is easily one of my favorite Band-Maid songs. If I could find the MP3 to buy, it would already be on my playlist next to "From Now On". I envy you being able to get to a live show...I love the crowd interactions this band has, they are so talented. Good Reaction Psi & Bella 😁🤘

BAND-MAID performed ONSET and FROM NOW ON back to back at both shows I saw last year. Never thought that would happen. A major highlight for me.

when they come back to the UK mine's gonna be "MINCHOMANIA ROCKS" & when Sai-chan asks if i'd like to say anything & holds out the mic (which she will😏) i'll say "BAND-MAID you are all so cuteable". Yep that should get the crowd going.😁

As an FYI- As Awesome as BAND-MAID is Live don't expect any kind of top level light show on their US tour like you see in their official Lives from Japan. You may even experience lighting that can be downright awful at times. Fortunately that will in no way effect the Maids performance.

Many years ago, European and American rock bands went to Japan and, by attitude and implication, said, "THIS is how it's done!". Now the Westerners sit in their seats, to be instructed in rock excellence by the Japanese. Yes, this is using overstatement to make a point -- there are still excellent players (and some superior bands) in rock and metal in the West. However, there is also a great deal of mediocrity that enjoys a very decent living by their playing. In Japan, you drop jaws or you don't get on the stage.

In my opinion (which, of course, makes my words absolutely written-in-stone fact), Band Maid should have been playing in large halls and arenas in Europe and America since at least 2017. Why haven't they? Lack of a significant public profile. And why is that the case? Because the American music industry, promoters and music media continue to ignore them (quite intentionally). And why is that? Intransigence, arrogance, ignorance, lack of courage and insight. As one industry person said in a TV interview last year, "all of these Japanese hard rock and metal bands are unmarketable in America". So what's wrong with them? (I'll just address the all female Japanese hard rock and metal bands). Well, they work in genres -- hard rock and metal -- that are, today, almost niche-markets in America, and are seen as presently being "non-recoverable" (at least in an economic sense). And...the bands sing most of their lyrics in Japanese, or in English too heavily-accented to be understood by many Americans (apparently Rammstein and the dozens of Latino bands singing wholly or primarily in Spanish, who are enjoyed by many Americans who speak little or no Spanish, are irrelevant here [message to the industry -- many Americans don't care, and the accents are not as prohibitive as you think}). And...all-female bands are not accepted in hard rock and metal [unfortunately, that's still somewhat true, but I can think of several Western all-female bands that show that the condition is not insurmountable]. And...they're, uh foreign, and, uh, kinda darkish (this last descriptor is only muttered if the speaker is blottoed). [Industry people: see prior note on Latino bands, and I assume that you hold that R&B, Soul, Dance, Hip-hop, Rap, etc. have never made serious inroads into the American music scene, and that R&B never made it from small bars to the mainsteam, and that rap/hip-hop never got beyond purely urban venues]. Like early R&B, Hip-hop/Rap, Rasta, Tex-Mex, et cetera, Band Maid and their sister bands only enjoy the success that they do because of their fan's word-of-mouth, You Tube viewings, and Spotify listenings. Come-on American music industry people -- step-up and do the honorable thing! And...lastly...don't you just love it when people ask questions and answer them themselves?
