Onset was the 1st Band-Maid song I ever heard. I consider Onset to be one of the finest rocking the Frick out songs that I've ever heard !!😏♥️🎙🎸🥁😎🤘

Band Maid has released four dedicated instrumental tracks. They have also released instrumental versions of many of their biggest songs. (What other band can even do that??!) I love that their instrumental music is as interesting and unique as their songs with lyrics. Other than being the same musicians, “From Now On” and “Onset” couldn’t be more different. The “Instrumental Maid Channel” has become a favorite of mine for some different versions. There are several of the famous “White Room” versions of some great tracks. “Without Holding Back” is another dedicated instrumental. “Giovanni” is a progressive rock, jazz, metal jam also released as an instrumental. It’s for musicians and music theory students…it will not be an easy first listen! P.S. After hearing Band Maid sans vocals, you will gain an entirely new appreciation for their talent and songwriting

Most are spare drum sticks in case she breaks one during the show. Same reason why guitarists have multiple picks on their mic stands. If you watch the Dice/Hate vid from Lollapalooza, you may catch Akane breaking a stick and grabbing a new one.

Thanks for the reaction and comments. Akane destroys her kit. Would be surprised if she didn't shred at least a few sticks during a concert. She'll usually hand out the rest to the fans as souvenirs. Without Holding Back is another great instrumental to check out. Cheers!

There is a story that for the song "Play", it was originally intended to be an instrumental. But Saiki liked the music so much that she asked Miku to write lyrics for the song. So the first part of the song starts out sounding like it's going to be an instrumental, then Saiki starts singing, It's a great song.

Akane lost a drumstick during Dice/Hate? at Lalapalooza 2023 and snagged another one without missing a beat. She keeps her wrists pretty loose while drumming so I'm sure they go flying once in a while and there's also always a possibility of breaking one or more so having extras is just a good idea.

There are reason for spare drumsticks....She may drop a stick....break a stick through snapping or splitting..breaking tips....Different sticks for different styles of play...Like brushes or hot rods and beaters etc, for a more mellow sound..Heavier (thicker) sticks for giving the drums a real pounding..and just general feel...A stick might not feel right in the hand for some reason and so.. change it...Akane has her own signature drumsticks made by Wincent, a Swedish brand. They have the BAND-MAID logo on the ends and Akane's cat signature with the name BAND-MAID on them.

Akane might go through a couple of sticks per concert due to breakage, plus she'll probably throw out a few to the fans at the end. A few sticks might be weighted differently for heavier songs, too.

This is the original instrumental played during Band-Maid shows and while being musically excellent, it's are intended to give Saiki a vocal break, along with a Miku lead song and Omajinai Time(Magic Spell Time), give Saiki's voice time to rest.

If you break or drop a stick you have to have another ready. And, even though it's the same maker and weight they don't always have the same feel or balance. So just because you have another one you might ditch it in between songs in favor of one that's got a better feel. And, if you're on the road, you may do this night after night. Add in wood tips, plastic tips, brushes etc... But I'm starting to think you like the sound of your own voice more than solos. But if you're likeing instrumental there's one you've missed called, 'Without Holding Back'.

Band maid are a favorite of mine. But have a listen to a great all female band from Korea. 'Rolling Quartz'. Try 'Rock & Roll Paradise' (live official video) You won't be disappointed..
