Old Laddie, now if you want to find out how talented and versatile Band-Maid is, you should react to "Puzzle", the official acoustic version. It's a simple(?) duet with only singing the same lyrics but with a different perspective than the rock version. Kanami provides the backing vocals and, of course, the acoustic guitar. This heartbreakingly beautiful rendition of the song has caused many tears to fall.

And I fight it as best I can. 😁 BAND-MAID is not the heaviest band in the world. Not the most technical, not the most shocking and not the fastest. But this is the BEST band in the world today. Yeah I have a difficult time with reading the subtitles and trying to take it all in sometimes. I don’t want to miss anything, but I think the thing I struggle with is point of the song “story”. Maybe it’s because I am a crappy reader or was educated in Kentucky idk. I want to understand what I watched, but I also don’t like stopping and going back and forth & wasting you guy’s times. So I greatly appreciate you great folks out there educate me with I am missed. A thing about the maid outfits, Laddie: as Fans and Maidiacs know, Miku -- the 2nd guitarist, lyricist, founder and who worked at a maid cafe -- wanted to show that everyday working "Kawaii" girls dressed as maids in high heels while having fun and smiling could rock as hard as any guy band sweating it up in their hip, poor tortured artists "outfits"... and by showing that contrast (the Gap), it would generate interest, which it so successfully has done! It also represents Woman Power (Equality), which is an important theme with the Maids. Now they show up as Maids for all band business and interviews, etc. and have created a long-lasting, unmistakable, visual band brand. Very cleaver, Miku. Your diabolical plan for world domination is working, Po! Of course, none of this would work if their music and stage performance wasn't at such a remarkably high level. Band-Maid is considered by many of their fans and Maidiacs to be the best hard rock band in the world - maid outfits and all!

Official live is something else, it's postproduced sound pull from mixer, not some fancam, so: live video with "polish" sound, but live sound with all differences from studio...but BM is very good live. Stage is their "natural habitat"

Not many bands do the guitar solo through the whole song thing. I first recall hearing it when The Cars hit the rock scene in the late 1970s. They have several songs where Elliot Easton solos through the whole song like Kanami is doing here.

Band-Maid has done some music for various anime. They also put themselves in anime form into one of their videos, and it appears to be very Sailor Moon influenced. Check out Unleash!!!!! if you are into that. Their latest live videos from Yokohama Arena are incredible. Don't You Tell Me and Hate are straight up bangers with guitar vs bass duels, and Endless Story is a tear jerker ballad that even choked up the lead singer, Saiki, and the drummer, Akane, since it was the last song of their 10th year anniversary tour. Also, they just released a collaboration with The Warning called Show Them which is a must listen.

It's a major SIN to interrupt a guitar solo being played by anyone. BUT especially Kanami!!! The maid costumes are from anime. Miku Kobato, band founder, was working in a Maid Cafe when she came up with the idea for the band. The costumes are to create "the Gap" meaning the difference in what you seeing, Demure Maids vs what you are hearing Hard Rock. It works, they been at it for 11 years now!!

Hi, Old Laddie! Just my suggestion, and I could get some push back, because this is a personal thing, but I strongly suggest that you leave captions on, but first time through a Band-Maid song, ignore them in favor of soaking in the sonic awesomeness of the instruments, and I include the vocals in there as "instruments." The reason I say this is that there is so much you'll completely miss if you try to read the subtitles too. You can always read lyrics in advance or after. I think you'll "get" the band more if you do this. Oh, and don't pause in the middle of a solo. Sorry, sounds like I'm dissing you but really just trying to be helpful. Cheers!

"Shut up, Kanami is speaking" is a long running joke amongst Band-Maid fans. There were even some shirts made at one point. I am sorry that you took it as me or us telling you how to run your channel. It is your channel and I wouldn't dare tell you how to run it. If you continue down the Band-Maid pigeon hole you will get accustomed to these idiosyncracies. BTW... We call it a "pigeon hole" because Miku Kobato (rhythm guitar, vocals, main lyricist, band founder) identifies as an 810 year old pigeon. Be aware that PO is apparently the sound that Japanese pigeons make.. Yes that is crazy but it's another thing that you will get used to over time.
