@@rockandrollrockandrollrock6930 it was great. That crowd was into it but not rough at all. Everyone was really cool about giving space. She couldn't see so I held her up which got a little tiring but the crowd was great! There was no squishing up near the stage that I was expecting. We were 3 people back from the front row of people. I wouldn't hesitate to take her again. She is hooked!

It is a shared understanding that they never do encores. That is a sign of their dedication. For one thing, I suppose, because their setlists are calculated from start to finish. For another, they try to put everything into playing the list, there should be no energy left at the end of the list. Thank you for your postages, by the way!
@stevehall5128

This is a good point. Occasionally, Control Tower Saiki-sensei will decide that a song was not done well enough and should be done properly, or that there's a song that they really want to play. But as Kobato-san explained once, they give 100% and leave it all on stage. The encore thing is standard in the US, but IMO it's become pretty artificial and almost meaningless. There was a song that fans would sing for the Beatles, and I feel something similar would be a better thank-you/farewell for Band-Maid as they leave the stage than calling for more. A 1000-voice rendition of the intro to "Page" could be pretty amazing, but if something like that develops, it should be whatever arises spontaneously. The thought of the audience serenading the ladies in return for their performance is pretty magical and thoroughly "Maid-ish" in any case.
@l4kr
@l4kr 2 жыл бұрын
Most encores are always fake anyways, idk what's the hype around them... Not to mention a standard concert is 1 hour and a lot of waiting for pre-show to finish. BM has 2-hour concerts and start on time. That's just so much better than anything.

I was able to meet Alan from Dicodec at Aftershock, once on Friday and on Sunday. I was almost directly in front of MISA and got a couple of nice photos of her. I realized seeing her live, just how gorgious MISA is. Also, the one member that stood out to me was Akane. She hammed it up with the crowd during her sound check and when one of the video/photogs would be shooting her. I'm hoping that I get to see a whole serving when they come around next. Until then, I'm going to see Nemophila in SF in March the day after my birthday. I splurged on a VIP ticket for myself!

Howdy Wave. I did say hi to you while we were waiting in line. You got my son and I at :45 and 3:41 . I am the gray haired guy (ha!) in the Cluppo shirt. You and Rosie were very nice to us. I was wasted after the 4 hour drive and the show and did not make it to the after party. I am glad you had a good time. I went solo to the Phoenix show and it was really nice. The venue holds about 500 so it was like a club show. The sound was so good that you did not need ear protection. Keep on doing what you are doing. Stay safe my friend.

Hey Wave. I came up to you while you were in line. Big bald guy with a beard. I traveled from Nampa Idaho. Nine hour drive both ways. Don't worry, I arrived a day early and left the day after the concert. It was a great show but I did get the heat sickness. I was up front but had to move to the bar area to sit. The Neptune really needs to get some fans in there. 😥😥😥

People with strange tendencies are called "hentai" in Japanese, but I never thought Miku would teach such Japanese. Come to think of it, there was a "hentai" in the audience who wanted the banana peel that Akane ate. LOL. I hope 'hentai' doesn't heat up any more.

Band-Maid with an encore would just mean a 16 song set with a 2 song encore, rather than an 18 song set. The disappointment, if there was one, would probably have been 18 songs, rather than the 22-24 there was in the past.

Hi Wave. Yes, it's always a trade off. Right at the front- poor mix- the PA's tend to be far left and far right and sometime even slightly above and behind you. In the middle at the back- great mix. This is the decision that my wife and I make before booking tickets, just depending how we feel at the time.

Glad you and Rosie had a good time. The lack of an encore is odd; the only group I've seen who didn't play an encore was Nightwish back in 2012. Having seen a lot of Vladimir Chupin's videos from the European tour a few years ago, it sounds about right that Kanami would dominate the sound based on where you were standing. It also makes sense that MISA didn't cross the stage since they didn't rent wireless systems. I would have let them borrow my three Samsons! Thanks for posting this, Wave.
