Band-Maid songs are actually highly-structured and meticulously crafted. They are complex and dense tho, so the structure may elude you for the first few listens (many Band-Maid songs need multiple listens to truly appreciate the artistry). Thank you for reacting. :)

Thank you for reacting to the BAND-MAID song. This song "SENSE" was written and composed by BAND-MAID as the theme song of the anime "Platinum End". "Platinum End" is a story that when a god changes, 12 god candidates are selected as angels and fight, and the last one left is the god. The 12 god candidates fight with wings that can fly faster than light, a red arrow that grabs the heart, and a white arrow that destroys everything. The wings that appear in the "SENSE" Music Video are conscious of the wings of the god candidate, and the spotlight represents the arrow of the god candidate. If you listen again with such background knowledge, you can understand the goodness of this song further with the playing technique of BAND-MAID.

Too catchy for metal fans, too heavy for pop fans, too chaotic for fans of standard rock music. I completely understand and respect your criticism but I hope Band-Maid isn't listening. I haven't been this excited about a band's evolution for a very long time. Band-Maid has a back catalogue of dozens upon dozens of less-hectic songs. You've already done a few like "Dice" and "Freedom" etc. If you're interested in that side of the band I whole-heartedly recommend "Bubble", "Choose Me", "YOLO", "Don't You Tell ME" and "Alone". "onset" is a great instrumental. For a softer side, there's "Daydreaming", "Endless Story", and "Wonderland". I would suggest you stay away from "Different" though because that's another hectic song. Here is a very good documentary on how Metal came into existence and its evolving through time: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i37alJyejLlmbac Another thing is a total ignorance about punk-rock. Just a quote from Wiki: "..short, fast-paced songs with hard-edged melodies and singing styles, stripped-down instrumentation, and often shouted political, anti-establishment lyrics." Punk-rock is a rough music of rebellion against establishment, elitism and academism (in music). IMHO Band-maid doesn't fill the punk-rock bill: their music is way too sophisticated for that. B-M lyrics also doesn't follow the typical punk-rock messages. Calling their music a punk-rock is like an oxymoron.

You should listen to the song ten times to figure out what is happening, and that´s appropiate because this is the opening song to the anime Platinum End. Was never much of a rock/metal fan (except a brief phase of Guns N Roses etc and Grunge in late 80s/early 90s) and the odd song by others since then. And then I discovered BAND-MAID. Every single day since then (roughly 18 months now), I've listened to at least a song or two by them. No other band has 'grabbed' my attention and held onto it as firmly in over 40+ years of actually listening to music. On a first listen, there is a LOT going on in most of the self-penned songs by this band - and it can take a few listens for your ears and brain to catch up. Their newest album - "Unseen World" has a lot of fast-paced songs in a broadly similar vein to 'Sense' and although I liked it on first listen I didn't quite 'get' it completely. Two or three listens later, and I 'got' it. It's easy to say 'it's not my sort of thing' and only listen once - as many folk tend to do, these days - if they actually even listen to more than a few bars. If you're open-minded enough then it can be worth giving a song/band a few chances to let your ears and brain catch up. The Icelandic band Sigur Ros never made sense to me (despite giving them a few tries), until they were the soundtrack to a car journey around some of the Perthshire countryside up here in Scotland on a wet day. Then suddenly they made sense and I became a fan. Try the song a few times, in different scenarios/settings, it may or may not change your initial opinion....

Yesterday I watched a very young, poor, Nigerian reaction, his first contact with them. His musical mind, culturally tuned to rhythmic complexity read it like a comic book. Another guy from Africa, screeched to a halt at a nice/nasty little drum fill from Akane which makes pretty much everyone else do a WTF face and listens to it three or four times and goes "há dubstep" and carries on satisfied. Western popular music has dulled the senses. It can either be fast but very repetitive and simple, or if complex, very slow. This is an anime theme and so it's going to be heard a few times so the details will emerge. I also saw a young morrocan girl who reacts in Arabic and you could see that it just went straight in and refreshed her entirely. What the mainstream (pretending not to be) Anglo Saxon music scene take for gourmet musical fare is chicken nuggets to people outside the bubble, especially the young and the very old accostomed to jazz.

Here is the corresponding official clip, fastforwarded to the correct time ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5LJamekg7iFfac ) Cheers

@Denis Smith OK< no worries, this was our first time hearing it and that was our reaction to it. Chill We have reacted to five other Band-Maid songs and really enjoyed those. We don't have to like everything. Cheers

Maybe you shouldn’t rate music styles you don’t like. It is a disservice to the artist.

@Ryan Bedford Maybe you should check out our Band-Maid playlist as we have reacted to 6 songs from them and have been know to give them a 10/10 And let's be honest, they really won't be worried about anything us two say. Cheers

Please react to Japanese female singer, Milet. Her songs, Inside You and The Love We've Made were produced and composed by Toru ( One Ok Rock's guitarist ). He also co-written and produced her song called Who I Am. Thank you
Not shure, a bit crazy. Agree the band is very talented.

B-M's newer material is a lot more technical (some say too frantic). I don't know what genres you like peter, but try this older one from them. Just a very catchy rock song & nothing more. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qni7q5uujbuco7s

Why are you guys reacting to hard rock/metal if you can't appreciate it? Hard rock reactors aren't reacting to pop stuff or classical. If it's to much for you it's to much.

To appreciate all music you have to react to it, please check out our previous band-maid reactions. We enjoy them that’s why we went back again! For our ears it was a little on the hard side but that’s just personal preference :) our ears certainly have changed since doing the channel… thanks for watching and stick with us :)

Too heavy for me, I wouldn't want to listen to that again, for me it was a bit like listening to workmen using a pneumatic drill. Very talented at what they do though and I'm sure they are not short of admirers just not for me.

@Lord Lockdowns Jukebox This one was too much for us too, but we have reacted to them on five other occasions and some of those are worth a listen. This was a bit too much for our delicate ears. Cheers

Faith if you like more straight forward rock songs with great hooks and riffs check out Dice, Bubble, Manners, Blooming. They are much more of a hard rock band than a metal band. Dice is usually the song I use to introduce ppl to them

@@falconsooner Thank you for the suggestions. I will take a look. 🙂 Hard Rock and Metal is not my thing, but I do like some classic rock songs from groups like Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, The Doors, Queen etc, the ones you get to hear on classic radio sometimes. Thanks. 👍

@@faithreasons3041 I'm 55 and my tastes have traditionally been classic rock as well. Manners, Bubble, Dragon Cries definitely have that classic rock bluesy feel. My introduction to them was Play and I thought...I hadn't heard a sound like that in a long time. It hearkened back to the rock of yesteryear but sounds updated. Play and Freedom Live really show off their fun personality but aren't too hard. They also have rock ballads like Daydreaming, Endless Story, About Us. Anyway they are worth a few listens and if they still don't resonate then you haven't lost anything except a few minutes of time. But it has been a long time since I have been this excited about a band.

@Faith Reasons They are all very talented and make it look so easy. We have reacted to five other and only one other we found a bit too fast for us, but they do some very good Heavy Rock songs too. This was too fast for us deliciate flowers!!

Never heard this group before and I don't need to pay anymore attention to Twitney Spears meets a jacked up version of metal that should have NEVER mated. Eeeekkkkk. Chuey locked himself in the back bedroom with soothing drone of Slayer. HARD?? Minnie Mouse on autotune? Not our bag. And I'm an old school metal head.
@danw60482 жыл бұрын
From one old school metal head (I am 60) to another, you should get out more. On second thought, if you can't appreciate the musicianship, experimentation and metal intricacy, just stay in your back bedroom.

@Chuey's Mama Wow, I am surprised, I thought this may be to your taste, we have done five others songs from this band and they were not as fast as this. They are all very talented and can play the crap put of those instruments. And then you totally surprise us with the Lil Nas comment, just goes to show, you can never judge what someone will like. You gave them a try at least.
