I'm a long time Maidiac (Band-Maid fan). I love this collaboration. I have been "aware" of The Warning since they did their Enter Sandman cover many many moons ago. I have always "liked" them, but I never gave them my proper attention till this past weekend whilst on a road trip. They have a new fan. They're great. A totally different rock style to Band-Maid but familiar to me..... A sprinkling of Stoner/Sludge. Both bands are great in there own right and I wish nothing but success for both. Hacia adelante y hacia arriba & 前進と上向き (Forward and Upward).

Kanami's composing suited both bands. The Warning style arrangement, with Band-Maid style duelling. Some collabs can end up doing neither side any favours, but these two bands are down the earth enough to get it right. Great reaction- Thanks.

You don't need to pick any sides. Both bands are friends with mutual respect, they met at the Aftershock festival two years ago. There's a video on KZbin showing The Warning going up to Band Maid to say hi for the first time.

i like that this ends up coming across as a great way to generate curiosity about both bands, for fans of either, both, or even as a completely new listener unfamiliar with either. Great jam session having fun with friends that all happen to be world-class musicians. My only minor complaint is that I wish it were a minute longer, so that we could have had more than 4 bars of each part of their back-and forth playing :)

In the begining there was 2 bands *BAND-MAID* from Japan and *The Warning* from Mexico and in 2022 they was invited to play at the *Aftershock* Festival and there they met for the first time. 2 years later a Collaboration was created. The transition of the instrument was amazing *Ale* staring the riff and *MISA* finishing and *Dany* starting and *Kanami* finishing and *Akane* staring and *Pau* finishing just smooth transitions. Each time I listen to the song the more I enjoy the passion and effort that was put into this track. In the beginning there was a small pigeon 🐦 who met a guitarist 🎸 who played with a drummer 🥁 who went to school with the bassist 🎸 and then tricked the singer 🎤 to join the band then the small pigeon 🐦 asks the guitarist 🎸 please teach me how to play the guitar 🎸. Then met with a trio from Mexico and a wonderful collaboration was born. The Story Continues.

You have one major thing completely wrong. There was no duel, no competition, no adversaies, and no sides to choose. I was in Tokyo for the concert where they debuted this incredible song. It was the encore after two amazing sets of music. During each band's set, members of the other band were seen behind the curtains cheering the other group on and watching in admiration. Also, the affection and respect they have for each other was on full display on stage. They are in awe of each other. You are correct, though, in being impressed with this video. I enjoy your reactions. Keeo, up the good work. I'm now going to see the Warning 5 times in 4 countries over the next few months.

You nailed it. It was more obvious live in Tokyo (I was there) as we could see the affection and respect they have for each other. They were cheering each ither on, not showing off. I wish they would release a video of the live performance. The drum playing in particular was incredible.

Although it seems like a duel initially, as it goes on it becomes clear that it's more of a duet, with the two bands supporting each other, both trading off and together, especially given the lyrics. Or as others say, a collaboration to create a fantastic piece of music, I don't think you've reacted to The Warning's "Survive" yet. When you do, whatever version(s) you choose, take special note of Ale's outro, then come back here and listen to Misa's outro. And "Survive" is amazing. One of band's early originals and powerful as heck.

The Warning never do anything half-way. They could have just recorded vocals in Mexico and sent it in, but no we are going to Japan, doing a complete recording with 2 lead vocals, god knows how many backup vocals, 3 guitars, 2 basses and 2 drums, then we will do a show with both bands playing a full playlist and then at the end bring back on stage the whole rig setup of The Warning and play the song live for the first time with all 8 musicians on stage at once. 🤘🏻

I'm not sure it's fair to say it was a BM song. It was written with both bands in mind, and both participated. I was at the live performance in Japan, and it played as being equally in the wheelhouse of both bands. It was incredible and emotional.

Their voice blended perfectly but Saiki adds more feminine sweetness to her voice when she intends to. That with Dani's straight powerful rock voice added the masculine flavour. To be honest it's not my favourite Band-Maid song but like this better than the Warning songs in general. (they are awesome in their own way)

“With”or “featuring”…whatever. Same thing. My point is that Band-maid is the primary group here. This is primarily their song so they are getting the more complex and “showy” bits. If this were a “battle”, they would win because of this. But it is not a battle. The two bands are simply playing together, with Band-maid getting the tastier bits.
