From Japan The members of BAND-MAID were born in different places in Japan and have lived different lives. They came together by chance 11 years ago when Miku wanted to create a rock band. Btw no CGI - the explosion was real, and, as the video shooting day was very cold and rainy, they actually appreciated the sudden warmth in their back a lot! Band-Maid ... how to describe them? They are a galaxy of talents. I'm a musician, I've been in bands for 20+ years, I've seen tons of bands live (most of the "usual suspects" and many lesser known ones) and Band-Maid is in my eternal top 3 - that's how good they are!

They (practically have to) put out instrumental versions because the songs are so jam-packed and the vocal arrangements so distractingly good that hearing the instrumental versions is almost like hearing them for the first time.

Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. While they don't class themselves as a metal band, they don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog mayhem to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 12th year with the original line up. Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). I say without embellishment that they are not only the best band this century IMHO, but they also made me love music again. And they have such range as well, sprawling across all aspects of the rock genre. Stick with them and you’ll be surprised how every song brings something mew to the table. Love your enthusiasm. I first heard them back in 2015 with their song Thrill and was instantly hooked.. There used to be tons older videos on KZbin that are hard to find now days. They used to tease us with little clips and it was around July 5, 2019 when the ladies uploaded sample video with just the intro riff, no vocals and they asked "What do you think?" I wrote something like "Sounds like some James Bond (007) background music to some crazy car chase scene. " The video was made private. I wonder if my comment influenced their video idea. What a great way to start a Sunday! Watching The Maids melt our faces while riding around on cars....TWICE! Thanks so much for checking out Band-Maid and thanks (again) to Roger for doing God's work. My friend, as you probably already know by now, your life just took a massive turn for the better. These five ladies legitimately re-fired AND re-wired the neural pathways in my brain. I now listen to and LOVE music I wouldn't have given a chance 4 years ago. Band-Maid is the best, most complete band I've ever had the privilege to experience, but it doesn't stop there. A couple other bands you may like: Nemophila ("G.O.D."), Asterism ("Rising Moon"), Sokoninaru ("Tenohira De Odoru"). They're all different and they're all AMAZING! And there's PLENTY more (it's, frankly, insane). For the next BM reaction, I'd take Roger's advice and check out the MV for "Manners". It's a GREAT track and it'll give you an idea about the range of The Maids. Sorry for the long-winded comment, but your reaction got me totally fired-up! Be well and see ya on the next one! 🕊

What a journey you have ahead my friend. Next ... hmmm ... their entire catalogue will blow you away - but can I suggest starting with some of their stuff from a few years ago - "Onset" official live ... an instrumental just to show you that they are definitely not a gimmick band. "Domination" official live was also a "Go to" suggestion for new fans. They absolutely shine live - anything they do in the studio, they take to the stage and in most cases is so much better. When you get around to their newer stuff, you will see how much they have grown and continue to do so. The best thing that has ever happened to me (music wise) was stumbling across these guys 4 years ago and still can't get enough of them. New Subby from Aust ... enjoy.
