I see you're going back and forth with old and new Band-Maid. Sweet. Band-Maid may be a hard rock band but they put a fair bit of punk in many songs. "Choose Me" and "Alone" are more pop punk. "Warning" is hard-ass punk. "Different" and "Black Hole" are what we call prog-punk. They certainly deliver a fair bit of variety so you'll never get bored, but you'll always have a new favorite.

And Maidiac induction follows listening to DOMINATION-LIVE (the quintessential Live Band-Maid), ONSET-LIVE (instrumental-the way Rock was meant to be played), FREEDOM-LIVE (more Fun than should be allowed in concert including a kickass drum solo). To list a couple of MV's: Warning, Dice, Blooming, Rinne. Dozens more great songs await (They have a 110+ song catalog). You will eventually have a separate Band-Maid playlist. No doubt. They've progressed through different gear over the years; this MV is kind of mid-period. Currently Kanami (lead gtr) plays PRS Custom 24 guitars through a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier, Misa plays Black Cloud custom basses through Orange amps, Miku plays Zemaitis guitars (they made their first signature model, the Flappy Pigeon, for her - look up a pic, it's beautiful) through an EVH 5150-III amp, Akane plays a custom Tama Star Bubinga kit, and Saiki sings (live) through a DPA d:facto mic. Since you mentioned shoes...completely unimportant, of course, but Band-Maid lore is its own pigeonhole: These days Misa famously always plays barefoot, Saiki wears stilettos, Miku wears platform high-heeled Mary Janes (unless she's sprained an ankle jumping around in them), Kanami wears sensible mom-shoes, and Akane pounds her double bass pedals with unlaced low-top sneakers.

MISA also has a signature SG style bass. Kanami is yet to gain her own PRS custom model but I can see it happening (if PRS have any sense).

There are so many great songs from Band-Maid, but you need to watch them live. Domination, Freedom, No God, Onset, Play, Manners, Warning, etc, etc, etc.

NanI!!!!!? The sound is unique to Band-Maid. Each member loves to play the music they play because they all help in it's creation. Kanami Tono composes the guitar riffs, general melody, the rhythm guitar progressions and basic drum patterns. Miku Kobato writes the lyrics normally a mix of English and Japanese. Then Akane Hirose the drummer explains to a bemused Kanami that in order to play what she wants Akane would need three arms. Akane then presents what she might be able to do at a push (which is normally inhumanly complex and yet simplistic). Kanami nudges MISA and asks her to fill in the gap between Akane's insane drum patterns, and her own riffing, shredding and tapping. MISA goes away with the bare bones of the track and comes back with a bass line that most guitarists would have issues with (I defy you to play Onset without dropping the pick). All the members work out if the song is good enough to go any further and if it's not it gets erased. That's right erased totally it will never ever be heard outside of the the band. Only when they are all 100% happy with the music will it go to the pre production phase.

He did meet her but the "John Bonham" part has yet to be confirmed by Akane or Mr Page. He was definitely impressed by her though. Akane thought it was a joke to start off with when she was told by the staff that Jimmy Page would like to meet her.

So many great live performances to choose from! From the World Domination Tour 2020 start with any of these 3- Domination, Freedom or Play. From Zepp Tokyo 2018- Real Existense or Onset (an instrumental). I don't think you can fully appreciate them until you hear and see them live. They know how to encourage audience participation while having fun themselves. Saiki, rhymes with Mikey, is a great frontwoman with a powerhouse voice. Your reactions are fun to watch. I subscribed. Thanks for reacting to the best band in hard rock today. Band-Maid are not a one trick pony as they touch every genre from jazz, metal, rock, punk, hip-hop, pop, classic. Kanami is an amazing composer for sure. Kanami is a fan of Carlos Santana and Eddie Van Halen. She has her own twist of what Carlos and Eddie did, and has made it her own style different from any other guitar player. When Kanami plays solo there is no doubt that it is her, she has her signature style for sure. Go to their YT channel and look at the MVs, also have a look on their playlists on YT, a lot of their recent released are found there. Band-Maid are an EPIC band, greetings from Norway.

Let`s not sell B-M old record company short, they did invested in the ladies and produce an excellent CD "New Beginning" which had the songs Thrill, Don`t Let Me Down and their go to song Real Existence - every song is GOOD. The old record company made the mistake of 100% control. Thrill place B-M on the international market but they NEVER consider breaking up.
