Having an actual Bastogne veteran for this panel was a stroke of genius!

These students have no idea how lucky they are. This is quite an opportunity.

Yup, i remember in high school, hearing a veteran Lancaster Bomber crew member talking at our school assembly and the only thing i remember is when he talked about the line to the toilet before every mission. I wish i could go back and hear it all again now i understand it all i could actually pay attention. Having a teenager now i see how it is almost impossible to get a teenager to look to far outside themselves, let alone decades into the past and half way around the world. What an amazing generation.

My grandson's high school Advanced Placement WWII History Class is in the audience & he asked the last question. He is now a plebe at a US Military Academy. Very proud of him. I & my son started his love of History & he renewed my interest in WWII

I'm retired military and would have done anything to be considered, even if its just a role as an extra, in such a powerful film like Band of Brothers.

I´ve visited Bastogne and Foy once. Remember walking past the famous church in Bastogne and couldn´t help but think of Doc Roe and the nurse enduring the hardships with the wounded soldiers in here.

How did Shane Taylor not become a huge star? He put in THE performance of the series. Such a talented guy.

Totally agree. Loved his character. My heart tore for his role when the nurse died.

It’s quite the treat when you are able to listen to a World War Two veteran with the character and humor of George! This was a great panel! I’m surprised the room wasn’t packed!

My grandson asked George the last question. He is in the Color Guard at his university & has met several other WWII vets.

I wish my high school did this in the late 1980's. We could have found local veterans still alive to speak. This group was lucky to have this panel.

Shayne Taylor, not sure what he does now, but a great actor I BOB, My favourite, The fact that Eugene Roe went through the whole war and survived. Love to both and all who made this film.

It was my grandson's favorite high school class & he asked George the last question about being an engineer. His class used the Museum's library often & even did podcast about the War. It's called Tigers By The Fire & his is on Operation Torch.

I have gotten so much from this movie and series. My Father was in that war but never talked about it, so I am grateful for to now have this info. When I was in school, in the late 50's and 60's, it was never taught. I learned all about from this series and some other movies also due to Viet Nam. But this is the best re The Great war that saved democracy.

Such a good episode! They had a medic driver in the gulf and few guys walked into a minefield in the night.. Heard them & thier screams after thier injuries.. He went into the field (knowing he could get injured) to help them & got injured himself, chopper called in and he Mr ordinary refused to be lifted himself until all were kasavaced. Chopper returned later to take him .. Bravery doesn't discriminate it is inside all of us if we take the time to learn, trust & love our friends.. "Mr ordinary" was recognised 😢😢😢 Doc speaks for many "Mr & Mrs ordinary" with love trust and strength in their soul...

@@jamesbarker2567 Well, Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks teamed up again some years later to make The Pacific. The story of some of the marines in Japan during ww2. And currently they are making Masters of the Air, which is about airmen in ww2. So you have some more stuff to look forward to 😊

This is wasted on Gen Z in the West which is completely self-centered (that's why they also love selfies). Whereas the younger generation in other parts in the world will understand old values like honour, sacrifice, brotherhood, family, ... The contrast between the GREATEST Generation and the SELFISH Generation can not be bigger.

Can you tell me why they used so many British actors to portray AMERICANS? Let’s make a war series of Britain fighting and use AMERICANS.
@eliminator173 Жыл бұрын
Because they filmed in the uk. Easier to find local actors than to fly over a bunch of American actors.
