Does anyone else think they’re underrated? I always come back to them

Super underrated. Made my friends go by their set at Music Midtown one year and they were blown away. Had no idea how good they are live.

Totally under rated for those who've never heard of them. Totally rated by those who have heard them. I suppose that's the nature or definition of under rated. Superb band.

8 years since my first comment and so so sooooooo much has changed. Lost my mother and sister in law during COVID. Battled my way through addiction, 3 overdoses, depression, homelessness, unemployment…. But I’m still here… somehow… Band Of Horses got me through some of the lowest points in my life…. THANK YOU BOH!!!!!

This band helped me cope when I was laid up in the hospital for heart surgery. Whether they are extremely famous is not relevant because they are personal to so many people. Many thanks Band Of Horses.

I love this! Great memory. The concert was sold out at the Kulturkirche in Nippes. I walked around the back and told a guy loading equipment that it's my birthday and I'd give him 20 Euros or something. Wasn't lying, my bday is April 14. He said "gate's open dude". Just walked in for free, a friend from school was bartending... blown away by the acoustics of the building and the atmosphere of the concert. So cool to see it online again. Super geil, vielen dank fürs Mitteilen.

KEXP brought me here! Wow! I didn't know this band before and it's great to hear musicians who are really passionate, musically alive, real music. I can't feel this soul in mainstream pop music.
@jduff598 жыл бұрын
Young musicians should take note of this band. Musicians playing for the song instead of for themselves. Humble, creative and harmonious. All for one and one for all, as they say. Doesn't hurt that they have great songs to perform.

THEY SAY SOUL MUSIC IS MUSIC THAT REACHES THE SOUL. This must be country or folk soul. I feel them in my soul. This is, purely, some of the most moving music I have ever heard. All of them possess the uncanny and unique ability to touch the heart and mind. This reminds me of growing up in the country in SC.

I like my music but have to admit I'm new to these guys. Where have I been! They are fantastic. What a voice. You can always tell a good voice when each and every person in the crowd are just still, and focused on the voice. So glad I found this, I'm a fan now!

Me too. I weirdly stumbled on to someone’s comment and heard the “funeral song” which I’d never heard ever before in the 39 years of my life. Now it’s one my favourite songs ever.

This concert saved my soul when I was pregnant with my son, teaching migrant farm worker kids and “rebels” at an alternative school, and it was the most horrific of classrooms with mice droppings on my desk - but I put this on and my kids and I were so happy and at peace learning. ❤️ love this concert on my screen. It’s a keeper! 🙌 underrated? Hmm. That’s cool. So sacred to me and my babies that year. Thank you!!!

Ben has one of those voices(one of my absolute favorites btw) that is this incredible mix of emotional vulnerable imperfection and masterful perfection. In every audience I have ever been in, we all hang on his words in a magical silence.

well said. this is the exact sort of thing that autotune kills. its the imperfections that make for perfection. imagine robert plant, bjork, curt kirkwood, etc with autotune, would lose the soul.

The most important thing I have ever done as a stepfather was to introduce her to the band of horses amd REM . She is a song writer and I showed her this concert and REM in Germany. I swear, never in a million guesses would I have guessed... BOH and their brand of music which I have no idea which genre to put them in.. its like they have their own brand , bc me.. I'm a heavy metal, rock n roll type girl and have been that way since high school and in in my 40's ... but every day BOH pulls me to their side....and First...lol,.I used to listen to my Alice n chains and others and then later on BOH.... now its reversing... I just love these guys so much.,.... and just recently finding out about them ticks me off...lol.. was watching the "stepfather" for the like 12th time after being almost a yr now bedridden.... with several things wrong with my foot/ leg ... and I was like ohhhh what's that song ? Its beautiful.... the funeral ... and now I'm stuck on you guys.... can't see y'all in concert.... pout pout.... bc I have to use a walker and concert / walker don't really go together in the same sentence.... thanks for the beautiful music and getting my head out from being stuck in the heavy metal metal genre! Xoxo

You may like the band Fleet Foxes. Don't expect them to be the same as BOH because they are not but you may like what they do. Nobody really does what Band of Horses do, do they? Besides maybe My Morning Jacket, which I like less than BOH.
