To be clear the grand line is a pirates graveyard because they travel on the sea and experience the most dangerous aspects of the grand line. Most people who just live on their island and don’t live on the sea would be much safer.

Sometimes with early One Piece, prior information you learn can change and makes you think how certain scenarios played out. Like with Don Krieg, if he had so many ships, did they really go through reverse mountain to get into the Grand Line. All those ships going up at once would likely have destroyed most of them and then they would have to deal with Laboon on the decent. So some people believe that he had no idea about reverse mountain and just crossed the Calm Belt into and out of the Grand Line, losing ships to both Mihawk and probably the sea kings.

Love that Brannon and Zach caught how ancient that tori gate into the grand line is. That type of attention to the little details is going to help with the emersion and experience. Keep at it !!! Oda's little world building nuggets. Laboon! Greatest whale in the high seas. That gag with Crocus and the SH inside Laboon is one of the funniest moments in this show. It is such a testament to the range of the writing; the ability of an OP episode to seamlessly move from dumb gags to emotional moments in an instant is a motif that perfectly represents the story's writing. I am sure you guys have heard and seen how dark this story gets, and I love that Oda set up the concept of "romance" and finding a naive form of romance in things like dreams and most especially promises a s a pillar of the story to counterbalance the darkness and heaviness. Chapter 1 and arc 1 are titled 'Romance Dawn', and they started with Luffy and Shanks' promise. We see this same throughline of the naive and romantic belief in promises through Zoro (and how he holds the promise to Kuina and to Luffy so seriously). We see how upset Usopp gets when he hears of how Laboon's crew never kept their promise. I also love how in Sanji and Nami, we see the two crewmates who aren't/did not initially share this naive thinking. Through Sanji we see how being in the crew is starting to change their views on this because the same Sanji who called Zoro stupid for choosing death than failing to keep his promise, at the Baratie, is the same Sanji who chastises Laboon's crew for failing to keep their promise despite sailing in this dangerous sea. "And the weak of heart cared more for their lives than for promises they'd made and hightailed it out of here, eh?", he says. Doubt Baratie Sanji would have said this. I also love how it is the concept of this promise that yet again serves to set up a show of Luffy's EQ and intelligence, despite his "stupidity"., because of the duel and promise he makes with Laboon. Luffy my goat for real. Lastly, the chapter title for this adaptation, CH 104, is " Cape promise". Love Zach's and Jonathan's thoughts on why what happened to Roger happened, the setting up the next generation thought. I also want to touch on the conversation Brannon started about it being crazy that there may be settlements in this sea; I commented on a previous video about the significance of our sources of information thus far. And again, not that characters would lie, but it is important to note how our sources of information so far about the grandline have been from people in the East Blue, the weakest of seas and seemingly one that isn't so developed. Again food for thought about how information is spread in this world. Doubt a random the East Blue would expect an ancient tori gate at the entrance of the grandline, let alone a current that flows up a mountain. Lastly, isn't it crazy how we had an idea of what the grandline is, only to start off with a giant whale? Till the next drop. Ps; Do you guys' have a specific time when uploads drop on whatever day you drop? If so, I would like to know please. It would help since my time zone is 7 hours ahead of NY and 10 hours ahead of LA

It's good to note that now we know why it took Don Krieg 7 days to get to the Grand Line with his entire fleet. And when he hit a sudden storm and encountered Mihawk... that was the point he got to Grand Line, only to be immediately turned around back to the Calm Belt and it's sea beasts. So it's no wonder his entire fleet was destroyed along the process!

A short & sweet one with best boi Laboon💙 Usually an arc is named after the place they're visiting. The next one is whiskey peak. A lot of new faces are going to come through and I can't wait for you to meet them! Oh yeah there are settlements alright. When talking about how dangerous Grand line is, it's just that the other parts of this world are relatively more dangerous than East blue because there are more notorious pirates competing, looting etc. But there is also way more marine presence.

That running gag is one of my favorite parts, it's just so silly. They do it once in the manga, but it's a bit harder to pull off there. Also, Usopp wants to be a brave warrior of the sea. The engineering thing is just a hobby. ------------- The Grand Line is a dangerous place. It's only been one generation since Roger and his crew did their thing, so it's still new territory for a lot of people. Fifty years earlier, it was even more unknown. Anything could happen.

You've started a Saga, but this was the Twin Capes arc - entering the Grand Line, the shananigans inside and outside Laboon. That comedy inside Laboon, for me, is One Piece absurdity standard. Crocus is so funny. Luffy giving a purpose to Laboon. Mountains of Lore. Good episodes. Krieg said Zeff navigated for one year.

To answer your question, as of now (1000+) we are still in the Grandline in the Anime/manga, but don't worry the Grandline is supeeeer huge with many islands, kingdoms, and civilations. Most arcs will be named after the place that they occur, so we are headed to Whiskey Peak, so your technically in the Whiskey Peak arc as of now! New adventures, new enemies and friends, new islands and of course new challenges will not leave you indifferent. We can say that it is from this moment that One Piece begins. In my opinion, the East Blue saga was just a prologue (a reference to Loguetown - the city of the beginning and the end) - a partial acquaintance with the characters and the basic world order. And it is now on the Grand Line that the true story of the One Piece treasure hunt begins.))) I can also advise you to pay attention to all sorts of little things, because one day you will notice how everything takes place here. And even if something seems strange and even stupid to you at first, in one moment you will understand why it was exactly the way it was, and in no other way.

What you guys gotta understand is OP filler still being better than most anime canon stuff. The feels, the crew interactions, the satisfying final Luffy punches etc. So while it's not necessary to react to them (people have attention spans of fruit flies nowadays and wanna see you react to canon) it's definitely worth it to watch it in your own time if you don't wanna miss out. No real OP fan will tell you otherwise.

Laboon has been waiting for his nakama for 50 years, so we forgive him for spawn camping Reverse Mountain 😭😭😭 This was one of the filler arcs that I actually like haha, lots of funny moments, worth watching eventually Always check out maps whenever they're shown, haha Lore Piece! Luffy starting the fight by stabbing Laboon's wound with the main mast, luffy logic 🤦🏻‍♀️ i love luffy making the promise with laboon, and giving him another hope to live for, and also stopping laboon from hurting himself Haha they can't really "hop in/out" of the grand line 😂 maybe a good idea to look at the calm belt map or reverse mountain map again. Entering the grand line is a big commitment. The Four Blues and Grandline are separated by the red line/calm belts so you can't easily hop in/out or cross from one blue to another Crokus/Krokus has such a great introduction, i love the running gag Don Don Don Don Don Don 👁🤣 Onwards following the Log Pose!!! 🐳🌊🏴‍☠️🫡

@@DUAnime.Official yesss never underestimate the short arcs lol, short and sweet! well the captain of the crew that left Laboon said that it would probably take them a couple years to sail around the world through the grandline and then they would appear at reverse mountain again, that's why laboon is always facing reverse mountain. And people enter the grandline for the purpose of finding the one piece so people aren't really thinking of how to leave the grandline, unless they are like Krieg and want to leave haha. And the calm belt is on either side of the grandline, and as you saw in these eps, you can see what it would be like if you did try to sail through it to get to another Blue haha Big commitment to enter the grandline 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣 🫡

Honestly we’re understanding that more more and we get deeper into the show! We just finished up little garden and what started out as maybe somewhat of a filler tone with the ogres, by the end you felt attached and the conclusion was super satisfying! We left that island having loved the journey! 50 years is a long time to wait! Wonder if they’ll ever be mentioned again… The idea of Don krieg not getting through the calm belt is hilarious. zeff said he wanted to find the all blue in the grandline which was his reason for going, but he was strong. he gave up once he rescued sanji and sanji inherited his will/dream which is the reason he stopped shown in his backstory. the further you guys get deeper in the more youll see what the grandline really is and why it has its reputation.. you guys are like the strawhats in a sense starting from level 0 like how the east blue is the weakest sea in the world that mihawk mentioned. so it makes sense that everything else will be said like its scarier than where we came from (east blue)

Every writing by Oda has almost no mistakes, every story is continuous and full of puzzles... here we see how Luffy, with his unpredictable behavior, understands the feelings of Pope Laboon, who has been faithfully waiting for 50 years, so Luffy replaces the role of the whale's friend... and makes a second promise with Luffy... the picture on Whale Laboon's head is so that he didn't hit his head on the red line again...hee

Grand line(small part of big ocean) is dangerous for pirates because of three powers(later u gonna known about them) and also for sailors due to it's unusual weathers and sea kings. It is not dangerous for common people to inhabitate in an island located in grand line.

With the very short Reverse Mountain arc finishing, we begin the Alabasta Saga. I prefer this saga to East Blue actually with how much the world really expands. Especially with Mihawk giving everyone a taste of the future. I love the depth you guys are treating One Piece with so far. you guys need to rewatch episode 31(chapter 69 for the manga). the story already explained that the reason why The Grandline is fear and very dangerous, knwon as Pirates Graveyard is because of 3 Great Power. not because of its natural environmetal danger. and one of the 3 Great Power is the 7 Warlords(Oka Shicibukai). also, in the OP Live Action episode 2, Nami already mentioned that in the GrandlIne, it has a bigger cities, bigger Pirates, Danger and stuffs

So, basically the entirety of One Piece will be spent in the Grand Line (after the East Blue Saga)...so as soon as they enter the Grand Line, they can only exit out of it when they circumnavigated the world and find the last island and the One Piece. The next saga will be called "Alabasta Saga" which will be when the world starts to really expand...the next big arc where they will go somewhere that is not in the blue seas (admittedly, this arc is a bit slow, and this is the part of One Piece where most people give up on the series...so you can choose to watch One Pace for this part or if you think you can soldier through it, then do so; it's not a bad arc, but it's VERY dragged out) once you get past this arc, the next arc after that will break the series wide open and you will practically be introduced to a lot of elements that makes One Piece very engaging. So the consensus from the fans would be: 1. This current saga you are watching: Alabasta Saga --- generally considered great by fans 2. The next saga after that: a place where it's not in the blue seas --- probably the slowest saga that turns off most fans, you guys have to soldier through this part (it's a great arc and might seem contained but it's very relevant to the story later on) 3. The next saga: The Strawhats are back into the blue seas --- this is where the worldbuilding and the series breaks wide open and is considered as one of the greatest sagas not just of the series, but in the entire anime genre. I would say, as long you guys can get past through that "slow" arc, any other One Piece arcs from here on out until the current ones are all considered good (to/or) legendary by fans (I tend to agree, there are NO bad arcs in One Piece imo...the more you watch, the more you will see why people tout this series as one of the best-written fantasy stories OF ALL TIME)...that "slow" part will be worth it in the long run...and it's one of the most relevant saga in the series in terms of the overarching plot of the series.

@@timaalo154 i personally like Skypiea, but Skypiea do get mixed reviews. You didnt even actually understood what im saying...im just giving a forewarning becoz even if the arc is good, it does drag and it does turn off some fans. Skypiea was the reason One Piece lost some fans back when it was shown weekly, i know coz i had been watching OP from the start. Dont get emo about it and actually understand what i said.

Don crieg didn't enter grand line he encountered Mihawk when he was about to enter grand line, no one can get out from first half of grand line, only people who reach second half of grand line can get out of there. Arlong crew was in East blue because they are fishman and they can swim in calm belt.

The laboon story is kinda anti climactic.. everyone is anticipating about the Hyped Grandline but what you get is the boring story.. but its building something. Every little detail is important. This alabasta saga (season2) is kinda slow paced in my opinion. But there are scenes to really look for. Story will start to pick up once they made it to Alabasta.

Thats amazing that you only show the canon part in this reaction. The calm belt part is canon but the Lapis thing was a filler. So that was some great editting right there. Just keep in mind that all the other thing that happened with Lapis are not part of the Manga Story.
