Kanami stated she wrote "Endless Story" as an anthem song that would allow the audience to participate in with their voices, She nailed it. A great song should emotionally connect the musician with the audience. This song does that. Saiki's heartfelt singing and ad-libbed lyrics at the end of the song really shows how much appreciation the band has for the audience and their fans. It's a wonderful song to end a wonderful concert. Band-Maid is the best!!!!!

Beautiful ... and again: beautiful. The crowning performance of their 10th anniversary tour. And these are Saiki Atsumi's finest moments; I've never seen her so deeply emotional, so truly moved - it is heart-warming watching her getting it all out. And the other band members - these wondeful souls - deliberatively give their lead vocalist centre stage in her rapport and interplay with the audience. It's so precious and almost too beautiful. But then: What else could we expect from these phenomenal musicians? Band-Maid: they are MY endless story.

Thanks for the warm and heart-felt reaction Bob. Just so you know, this was the last show of their 10th Anniversary tour last year. This was the biggest venue (Yokohama Arena, 26-Nov-2023) they have every played, and one they had dreamed of playing for many years. So, yes, this was the last song of the night, and of the tour, and by the time they got to this song that evening, they had already played for well over 3 hours (the entire show was 3 hrs 34 mins)! Is that not even more incredible! There just isn't any other band like BAND-MAID... these ladies are AMAZING!
@Kevin60596 ай бұрын
You nailed it, Bob. It's so rare to have five world class musicians, making up a band even better than their incredible individual components, be so ego-free, humble and appreciative. Band-Maid and their fans are like a family - a team. At least that's how they make us feel, like we're part of it too. And the result is an insanely loyal and enthusiastic fanbase who helps to lift this band to greater heights. Because we have gotten so much from them, and we want everyone to know about them. They make the world a better place.

Old song. Performance from November 2023. This is the last song of their year long, multi-national 10th anniversary tour. To expand your perspective regarding SAIKI’s expression of appreciation, BAND-MAID were conducting their World Domination Tour, and just weeks away from releasing every Japanese Rock band’s dream of preforming at BUDOKAN, when the Pandemic shut everything down. It might have been the end of BAND-MAID, but with lots of hard work, and the Internet, they were able to maintain and expand their fan base. This story is depicted in the wonderful animated MV for UNLEASH. The recently released album very different new song with a beautiful video: BESTIE. BAND-MAID have toured the U.S. many times. I expect them to return before long.

Thanks again for your insightful, intelligent reaction. Of course, MISA and Akane team up to be the superstar rhythm section here. I just can’t get over how many notes they both play inside of songs that you would expect to have restrained parts. It’s similar to the bass playing of Dee Murray (Elton John). So creative and unconventional. I haven’t heard a drummer similar to Akane yet. In case nobody else mentions it. The final verse of this performance was written just for this show. The studio cut ends with the previous verse. I think it speaks volumes about how sincere the Maids are about their audiences. I’m not sure I can think of anyone else in history like that, either. P.S. You aren’t alone with the emotions. I cry every time I see this performance.

Hi Bob, thanks and great reaction. The band is a miracle of music for all of us. They are all immense but, in my opinion, it is Miku who makes this song magical with her lively and dynamic musical density with the rhythm guitar but, mainly, her 'vocal flights' that she gives the beginning or end of the phrases, as well as her singing in parallel to Saiki... These women are magic and a big miracle floating in the air of rock. Thank you

You make a good point about appreciation. I am sick of the cynicism in the American music industry (yes, it is an industry), where so many "artists" have such dismissive attitudes toward their fans (and so many fans are weird and scary). This band is like a ray of light.

I have to agree with you.. As a musician of 56 plus years and is now disabled and can't play keyboards anymore. I have played in many bands in my life time. I found musicians and artists feel like they are the greatest artists in the world and they are better than everyone else. That is why a lot of bands never stay together or stay with the original band,because they feel like they are better than the other members. Band-Maid is a band of sisters or a family (Besties). Thanks again from Japan 有難う。Owing to music education including group singing, which is strictly mandatory in school curriculum here in Japan, we are trained to sing simultaneously. In addition, we are tamed to follow these ladies' direction. The ladies are calling themselves "maid" 🤣 I was there in Yokohama Arena with tears of joy and sadness as well to say good-bye to the ladies at last. The moving finale of the 3-hour-40-minute long show. (33 songs) A little off topic. I went to see Band-Maid's ACOUSTIC concert held in Shibuya on March 20. All of 14 songs performed there were amazing. The finale of the show "Daydreaming" was especially breathtaking for me. The beautiful song in itself and kudos to FIVE instrumental players ! I noticed the same thing about Misa's playing (it's what made this band catch my attention) and remarked on someone else's reaction to this very number - she never lets up, if she has to slide she often does it without sounding the slide (ETA>> IOW without the 'glissando'), simply instantly there, so the patterns and runs are completely seamless, a wall of sound.

日本から。 Thank you for always reacting to BAND-MAID. The members of BAND-MAID get along really well with each other, and that is why we have been able to work with the original members for 10 years. The girls' appreciation for their fans is genuine, and they have a song that expresses their feelings toward their fans, known as a trilogy. In order of oldest to newest, “Smile”, “about us”, and “Memorable”. As a fellow Japanese, I can say that these girls always compose, hone their skills, and practice with their fans in mind. It is precisely because these feelings are not false that they are inspiring and often move us to tears. You will see a different BAND-MAID in the new song “Bestie”. Check it out if you like.
