I had to sell of all my Ver 1.0 29's 3 years ago, I miss them. I loved the design of the plane. If Bandai releases the Ozma 29 like this, I'm ALL in! Great review as always!

Wow, your first release is still so white! Mine yellowed years ago, despite only being on display for 2 years, out of dirct sunlight and then after that kept in a drawer.

About the bendable wing tip, in Macross30 game, that part suppose to bend 90 degrees upward when in battleroid mode to give it a more slick look. But the toy only bends a bit so the SP part can slip on. Kinda bummer they didn't make it the same as the game.

I never had the original Alto's. Just missing Isamu and Rod now. I got this and I have to say I prefer the gloss ones too not just bc they match the rest but also bc the plastic was denser. You can see light through some sections @,@

I wish I have seen your review before selling my 1.0.... I do like the glossy finish better, but the 1.5 has lots of structural improvements.

Wonderful and informative review. I am very interested in the Alto version of the YF29 because of it's bright red colourway and I'm disappointed that it's not a feature in version 1.5. So I'd like to ask (albeit, belatedly) is that due to the matt finish, or would it have been possible to keep the brigher shade in matt? I totally appreciate that the improvements in 1.5 are essential, but I believe the bright red was (is, still) a key selling point for the Alto model. Definitely a wish fulfilled if a future release is in the works that brings back the bright red! (ah well enough venting on old posts, back to the real world)

For me, I like the brighter red. Plus the gloss is consistent with the rest of my 29's. Thanks for the comparison. I feel okay skipping this release and saving some money. This was a suprise "renewal" kind of out of nowhere.

Hmmm this guy does not seem to address the durability issues of my broken yf29... which led me to buy another v1 that I wont dare to touch, so I will gladly skip this one /:

The only durability issues I've encountered are looseness in some joints. What broke on yours?

@@ScorchedEarthToys the little plastic swivel that holds the lower body with the torso, you know which holds the whole thing together when going from jet to robot. When I checked all my other vf 25s, they had minor cracks at the same plastic piece because upper and lower body are too heavy each (add armor), these beauties are delicate!!

@@francisisidroabcede8298 broken hinge was a total loss, had to make a small, narrow ring from duct tape to work as a new swivel to keep the upper and lower body together and help support the waist in battroid. Worked like a charm.
