This review made me say I got to have it. The original DX Mazinger Z I loved it but that elbow joint... So glad I got it with plans to sell the first. After I had them sitting next to each other I took the sell off eBay. Thanks for taking the time in doing great reviews.

Damn that is soooo sick! But you know I would rather have Mazinkaiser truth be told / stylized as well. Damn fellow collector you got me into Sentinel and I had to back track with the Getters........freaking an arm and a leg I had to part with. But they are sick. I also picked up the Gaiking by Sentinel sick ( surprised I have never seen you review this ) have you seen the prototype youtube on the Sentinel Mazinkaiser? Filth Sick.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But expensive....Its a once in a lifetime figure and will go with all the SRC Mazinkaisers beautifully behind glass.

Man, I collected the largest ones I could find back in the late 70's early 80's and they were like 6" tall but were diecast metal mostly and I wished I could've bought all of them but where I lived they were rare to find anyway for sale. I think they were marketed under Shogun Warriors marketing title but they were all the classic Mazinger series mecha. I had several of the miniature 3-4" tall ones also. They were mostly metal also. It was like after the Giant Robot marketing craze kinda dwindled away,couldnt hardly find any of the Bandai toys where I lived. Just Transformers and some Gundam stuff. Wish I could afford the stuff like the feature above they are making these days; but geez that's a lot of money. However it is also a lot of time and labor went into designing and making the molds and making all the little detailed parts and all the painting and finishing. It seems like it should cost much more than 400-500 $ when ya think about all the people that worked on the designing and fabrication.

Hey bro, what’s the difference between or what does GX and DX mean? Both are Soul of Chogokin, but the meaning and difference?

Jaco534 great question... think of GX being the standard sizing. Not too big not too small. Not necessarily in scale to each other but generally the really big robots are on the bigger end of the spectrum and smaller etc for GX. Now DX is pretty much taking the GX idea and making into a bigger scale size to be able to add details and gimmicks not available in the smaller GX series and price. You lose a little bit of playability due to the gimmicks but the DX is considered to be the top tier level of the SOC line.

I didn't have enough on my card come to find out but amazon said ty for your purchase. Next day for some reason I checked and could not find a payment history. My fucking stomach hurt for 2 days and I actually felt like someone I knew had died. One of the worst feelings ever. So to make myself feel a little better I ended up getting the King arts Gaiking. Look that one up, bro and tell me what you think about that!

air chicken I didnt even bother to check it but theyre leds. would be very easy to fix. just wires to a battery. In any case that shouldnt deter you from getting this.

I'm guessing since the next release is DX Combattler V this means that it's going to be like the original SOC line up since Originally Combattler V was GX-03

Great review, Charles. I really doubt I can bring myself to pick one up, but love being able to experience it vicariously through this review. I have a question, in your educated opinion, what do you think are the chances of Bandai doing a Raideen/Reideen/Raydeen DX Chogokin?

+P3SS3SSOd I would have to say they may never. I have a feeling Grendizer would be the most logical but who knows. I have no way of knowing how successful this line is. It seems it lingers until it sells out and then people go crazy trying to find it afterwards. Raideen would propbably be later in the line if it continues but I doubt it...just a feeling not a fact

RocketPunchArmy Ok updating my question to a 3 part question now that I watched the rest of the review -Seems like everything attaches a lot better then Mazinger. The fire chest plate tabs in place AND holds together with magnets? *The original.just had magnets right?* -*Did the original have magnets that held together the armor & now its magnets AND tabs?* (I've seen ppl fumbling around with those parts falling off in reviews of Maz Z.) -And lastly the arm on off gimmick. *I couldn't tell if you said they changed the design or if its just a case of tolerances?* Basically Great Mazinger looks like a HUGE improvement over Mazinger Z, looks aside, he seems to be a more functional piece. GREAT (Mazinger) review bro ;)

I think what I thought were magnets were actually reflectors. the arms are redesigned in a way that they stay on much better. doesnt look like a crazy redesign but it holds a good deal better.

+A Jalapeño Fewtures are great, but the money in this is really in the detailing/hangar/lights/sound. This does have metal but only in the armor. If you are only interested in metal, go Fewture of course
