Spend a few minutes with Justin Colletti from B&H’s partner Sonic Scoop and learn some useful guidelines for mixing audio through multiple compressors in series-meaning, one after the other. In this video, Justin will show you how to use two compressors in tandem to achieve consistency on a drum bus, all the while preserving the impact, life, and vibrancy inherent of the mix. You’ll also learn some useful Pro Tools shortcuts along the way.

yo srsly tho. You're the only guy who really shows how to use AND apply compression techniques in an understandable capacity. Good for both advanced user and beginners.

I assume this is generally the order we would stack 2 compressors even on a masterbus....am I correct? Faster attack compressor BEFORE slower attack compressor? Ive been experimenting with stacking compressors on the master bus as Ive seen it done but I never understood which order the chain was in(faster before slower or visa versa). I know it shouldnt be too fast nor compressed too hard on the masterbus but I just want to know the general order people use it when stacking there.

i think it's a good idea to put deesser or dynamic eq to tame the resonance from your mic. kinda distracting

Why does the audio sound like ASMR? Please explain the factors behind that.

+Jaihindh Reddy If you are referring to: "Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) is a euphoric experience characterized by a static-like or tingling sensation on the skin that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine, precipitating relaxation.", please contact us via e-mail for a more detailed discussion with one of our Pro Audio experts. B and H Indeed that was the ASMR I was talking about. Some people's ASMR triggers when they watch videos on youtube where a person whispers very gently into the microphone. His voice was similar in this video. Thanks for the prompt reply. Cheers.

It's mostly because he recorded this video in a finely tuned mastering studio...so, essentially, it's very quiet and there are few room reflections. But on an unrelated note (?), the lip-sync looks a little off.
