Agreed, there is no excuse for it. Seems like people who came to the battle would want to actually hear both bands but it’s not surprising that most fans came to the battle with their mind made up before the first note was played. Some of us paid to actually hear the bands and the crowd definitely took away from that to an extent.

At some point in the history of this rival, Jackson State fans had the luxury of falling back on the "we sound better than yall" because all you do is blow loud excuse when we busted that azz! So much so until they had to adopt our writing for power style over that wind ensemble writing style they had to even have a fighting chance. So now that they have some power, they think that it's all they need to compete with us. Delusion!!! You have quite a bit more imitating to do Sonic Dud. Study us a bit closer. Our Pen 🖊 Art is second to none.

The rub is that bands like Jackson State abandoned their wind ensemble, woodwind pusher style for our writing for power style. And they cannot duplicate it. Let's not forget, we've been at the very top of the HBCU food chain for decades now. This with our writing for power style along with our marching and drilling style as well. We have not changed a damn thing. Jackson State and other bands cannot say the same.
