The tool is a EZE bander. I'm not being paid to promote it. I have had it for a long time and will probably be the last time I will use it since I'm getting out of the beef cow/calf operation after 20 years.
The wind was bad and I have other things to do and there is no seconds or third takes on most of the things around here. It's get it done and move on to something else. So the video footage is what it is.

I started using the California bander on mine, no moving parts and it fits everything from new born to full grown. Simple little device, there are videos on it.

Having the right gear makes a big difference. I won't band one in the summer months due to flies and risk of maggots.

@@rustictraditionshomestead there are sprays to use to keep the flies and infections down. I just prefer to do it when flies are not a problem.

When I had beef cattle, I always knife castrated. Never a problem when the count of testicles in the straw is 2x the number of cattle done.

Yes, usually I go right where the neck meets the shoulder. Pull some skin up and inject it under it but not in the muscle

I've never used those bands. Daddy didn't trust bands. There was only one way. Takes two of to do that job, a tail twister and a cutter. The calves was always bigger than they sould've been making it a hard day's work. We had "nuts" for breakfast next morning with our purple stained hands. Waste not, want not. City folk calls 'em "mountain oysters".
