What I've seen from other creators is that if you wait until one field has been ploughed, then the assigned families will sow the seeds into that field whilst the oxen moves onto the next one to plough more.

I am wondering, can you select what family exactly you're assigning to a job? For example I'd like to build some houses close to the woods and a woodcutter and all the connected industry around there. Now it would be ideal if the people living in these houses would be the ones that run the wood industry so cut their walking distance short. Is that possible?

Hmm interesting question, in short I don't know as i've not tried to do it you can see and selection individual people/ families so it's certainly possible but i'll try and remember to check tomorrow

Just checked yes you can manually assign families to specific workplaces
